And it's a lot of fun!

The Japanese are on a seriously tight oil schedule, so far... I lose.

The Allies have to defend everywhere, so far... I lose.

If anyone needs help, my guide "how to waste oil in 30 days" will soon be ready.

Yeah, I am enjoying it a lot too.

I think going after Bandar Lampung on turn one is a big mistake. You are landing two SNLF or three that can be useful elsewhere by taking the oil fields in Borneo.

The advantage of Borneo is that you can take ALL its oil fields on turn one. But, more important, you can send back this oil to Japan on turn two.

Going directly to Palembang is a lotery. You need to control Cape Carot on turn three or four, otherwise this is game over. The problem with this is that, if it is raining or heavy raining, your chances to take Cape Carot are nil.

I think I have a good opening now, securing oil for Japan at 100%. Secret, take Borneo first.

Are you all on the 1941 scenario? Don't forget there is a nice April 1942 scenario where Japan already has control of all their area and are more ready. The heavy lifting has already been done for the Japan player. I think 1942 is better in game against the AI for a weak Japan human player or a stronger USA player cause it lets Japan have the resources they need so badly.

Yes Pacific 1941 small fleet scenario. Small fleet is much better than these big naval stacks. Much more naval tactics involved.

Agree with nc1701e that small fleet is good. Also like 42 scenario I played it alot when the game first came out and I thought there were more issues with 41, but it's pretty dialed in so I usually just do 41 small fleet. Borneo is the ticket for oil just land in Surabaya and advance up to Batavia it will take a couple months but if you capture Borneo and conserve your oil you will be fine

What does 'small fleet' mean? I can never find information about it on the forum or manual.
It just means less ships? Some historical ships are removed? Are you sure that is good?

Oh very good. Can we get a small fleet version for 1942 too?

Good idea indeed. Only Alvaro can answer if he can do. Everything is there, just need time for it.
