If they're disrupted, I can imagine it being ugly for them.

Burma is slowly but surely increasing their supply levels. Fuel is isolated at Lanchow.

Ooops - I forgot that you took Pago-Pago. That could be another explanation for the effective bombardment! :roll:

The meatgrinder continues....the 77th LRP, fully reformed, arrived in reserve mode and popped into combat mode along with another Chinese Corp and we are retreating the shattered Corps out of the hex...

I believe the 77th LRP's piats worked great today...

Pago Pago is still Japanese...not sure what is there. Tried flying some recon on it during the day but the floats didn't fly.

I have noticed a need to have more float plane base recon in the Pacific for the Allies.

Score one....good penetrating hit but a smaller torpedo from a Sboat. Then we took four hits and blundered into a minefield. Oops. Should live I think...

Tarawa...pummeled by shore bombardments and occasional air attacks for more than a month....the 65th Brigade tasked by Imperial Japan to hold the island to the last man. No retreat. No succor. Limited supplies.

The USN showed up, as is their wont most nights with a bombardment, but then this was followed by an invasion!

The US troops were medium well prepared for the base...over 60% pretty much. The lack of preparation shows as the 65th Bde puts up some decent resistance as the troops landed.

During the day several air strikes, including strafing by fighters (P40s and Airacobras) hit the 65th Bde's defensive positions...
