Take command of air and naval assets from post-WW2 to the near future in tactical and operational scale, complete with historical and hypothetical scenarios and an integrated scenario editor.
Hello there. Just picked up the game this weekend (Have zero idea why I didn't know there was a new version as I have the original) and loving it. I never really invested that much time in the original but I was curious to know what you guys thought was the most enjoyable scenario/campaign for a noob to play that spoon feeds all the elements of the game? I have toyed with a few and ground through most of the tutorials now I'd like to get hooked up with something fun that combines naval, air and ground forces (limited as they are) but doesn't overwhelm me.
Also, despite a few google searches I haven't been able to find a decent paint by the numbers tutorial of the editor...is there a youtube video or better still written one beyond the one included in the manual (which reads a bit like paint drying ?
For some good all encompassing scenarios I would try the three from FELTAN who hasn't been around for awhile: Havana daydreaming is the one I can remember.
Also for a good warm up to carrier ops the three scenario set by JMarso - Russian War - Phase I, II & III are good
Gunner is evidently too modest to mention it, but his "Northern Fury" campaign is definitely the most enjoyable, well-done, and engrossing CMO campaign in my opinion. Although it's definitely not one you want to start out with.
As far as noob-friendly campaigns, I personally learned the game by playing through Northern Inferno. Whether that's the best way to do it I can't really say, but that's what I did.
Glad you're enjoying it. I suspect Felton, the original author is no longer with us - hopefully only with the game and forum and not physically - but he only did three scenarios and I believe they are all classics. I touched Havana up to clean up some issues and DannyP19 tidied up the other two which had not been posted to the community pack.
BTW, thanks for the nod stww2, some of the Fury series are indeed overwhelming but there are quite a few that would be manageable if you can handle Havana Daydreaming. This blog is now 3.5 years old (man oh many where does the time go!) but is a bit of a players guide to the Fury scenarios, which number about 70 now I think.
Had a blast with H-Hour last night. Never had so much fun getting my ass kicked. Certainly shows what the start of WW3 would be like for an undermanned country. I will say my Norwegian navy is doing quite well against the Red Tide though. Probably the sailor in me. Hat's off to you sir...can't wait to dig into the rest of the campaign.

Did you post your fixed version of Havana for the CSP?
According to the form I have, DannyP19s versions of Feltans scenarios did make it into the CSP.

Am pretty sure I did, but it was a long time ago. I'll try and find it.

He has switched to other games, WitE-2. His last post is from a week ago, and last login from yesterday, so he is alive
I'm a new user so I'm focusing on scenarios that don't have a ton of complexity or difficulty while drinking the fire hose of information that is CMO before I tackle some of the more complex and difficult scenarios like the LIVE ones.
Black Moon Sailing is a scenario I recently played that I had an incredibly enjoyable time with. I've noticed a lot of the less complex and less difficult scenarios generally use the earlier timeframes which makes perfect sense, I imagine the battlefield has only gotten more difficult and complex as the technology has gotten better.
There just are not many (Again, by the nature of increased battlefield and technological complexity) scenarios for new players or of lower difficulty/complexity that take place in the 2010s and onward and especially ones that let you use multiple platforms against similarly matched opponents.
This scenario takes place in 2014, the description is as follows:
Black Moon Sailing (2014): This scenario assumes that a Turkey, increasingly estranged from Israel, is openly supporting the Palestinians. The merchant vessels are believed to be used for more than humanitarian aid, however, and Israel has decided it must take action.
Basically, you (As Israel) need to find and identify this commercial merchant vessel send in and land a boarding team via helicopter and re-route the vessel to another port and make sure it gets their safely. Without spoiling anything, this obviously leads to turkey not being very happy with your actions.
The reason I like this scenario so much is that you get to use a wide range of (modern) units, surface, sub-surface, aircraft, helicopters, maritime surveillance aircraft all while the scenario keeps the complexity from becoming overwhelming. It's a really good scenario to play after the tutorials (Though I would not pick this for my first post-tutorial scenario, I would suggest Operation Wooden leg and others first) as you'll use a lot of what you learned in both the air and surface scenarios. You'll get to both use and engage modern platforms and it's just a really well done scenario. It's also a scenario where mistakes and losses will hurt of course, but it forgives them and won't ruin the entire plan that you're needing to execute.
It's a pass/fail victory condition which I also like, the operation is deemed a general sucess if you complete the plan at hand but it's kind of up to the player to decide based on how they played the scenario if the tactics executed, and the losses or casualties incurred actually tally up to an operation that not only completed its objective but was executed to an acceptable standard, that standard varies between players of course, but I like when a scenario is set up with a victory condition like that. I like general pass/fail scenarios especially when so much of an operations outcome, weapons used, casualties, expenditures etc depends on so much that's just out of a commander's control, things like weapon malfunctions, inaccurate intelligence and so forth.
I'm rambling but it's an awesome scenario, I'll be sticking around to hear what others recommend.

I would recommend most scenarios by Prof. Mark Gellis. His scenarios tend to be small to moderate in size and well considered. A few of his I've enjoyed...
