Level of British supplies in Egypt

Post by boudi »

Hi,

The level of British supplies in Egypt is very low, rarely more than 5 or 6, making the fight very difficult. I tried to send a second HQ, the Sudanese, but with no apparent effect.

if we compare the readiness and morale levels of the Italians and the British in 1940, we realise with surprise that the Italian level is much better, even after having put the 3 ports of Libya at zero with the Royal Navy and with Malta still controlled by the British. Moreover this is only possible, in my opinion, before the Luftwaffe is in the Mediterranean, otherwise it is certain death for the British ships.

And if the AfrikaKorps landed, it was all over for the British before the end of 1941.

Is there a solution to raise the British supply level in Egypt, if possible before the Italians enter the war?

Thanks !

If you put an Allied HQ on a resource 5 to get supply 8
You can also use a second HQ to boost the range
Make sure the HQ closest to the frontline is the higher rated one and is in range of the second HQ. both of these HQs will then give supply 8
The Axis can also do the same but neither side gets higher than 8 in this theatre

Look at this screen.

Image

June 1940, you can seen that my HQ is on Alexandria (a resource hex), and the max supply is 5 (except Alexandria at 6) , not 8 as you said. 5 is not sufficient, italian units are at 6.

UK does'nt have a second HQ in order to boost the supply, the second is with the BEF in France, and later in UK in order to defend the UK island against a possible sealion.

Do you think that a south african HQ or an indian HQ can help ?

That is very odd. Just to be sure, did you repair it to str 10?
Also this thread might help, esp post 3 point 22:

It's a WW1 thread, but those mechanics are identical.
Btw ports and towns both provide supply independently, so e.g. reducing Tobruk port to 0 will have little effect on supply as long as Tobruk town is still at 5.

Nice thread about supply, for sure, thanks. I will try again with the sudanese HQ or an other one.

The strength of the HQ needs to be 10
Looks like that one might be 4

No, the HQ was at 8, but you are right, raising it to 10 gives a supply level of 8, which is much better.

Incredible the difference between a HQ at 8 or 10.

Problem solved. Thanks a lot.

Good point. Understrength HQs pathetic.
Slaps issued: 16 - Patton, Dana White, Batman, Samson. Medals/Salutes given: 6, warnings received: 11, suspensions served: 4, riots: 2.
