Bug with helicopter attacking ground unit?

I have repeatedly a bug? in my scenario where the helicopter (Mi-24vp hind F) hovers over the target on the ground and therefore never fires at it. Weapons say either the target is too close to fire at, or the sight is out. If I manually withdraw the helicopter and let it attack again, it takes a shot, then it just hovers over the target and never shoots again.

This sounds like it's better moved to tech support area, or did I miss something and you think the problem is related to Lua or scripting in the scene?. Also arnhrwd, you may want to attach a save/scen file that shows the problem when it's happening if you still have one.

Ok, I was unsure whether its a Lua related thing, or just a bug. I'll look into it more. The doctrine setting for the helicopter is weapon control status land FREE and gun strafing YES. Possibly the strafing option is causing the issue. I guess its not really a Lua thing, as everything else works as expected.
