US garrisons in Pacific

Post by jjdenver »

Hi,

I've noticed it's basically always(?) possible for Japan to take Pearl because of the 2 unit restriction. Is there any way around this as U.S.? I've tried putting Army + AA unit on Hawaii and leveling up infantry tech and AA but it still doesn't hold.

Also is US allowed to garrison islands beyond the Pan-American perimeter line where their navy can't go? Can they ship land units into Wake, Guam and Pago Pago without lowering their war entry level?

Are there any tricks to garrisoning or preparing as US?

Thanks

If the Japanese really want Hawaii, they will take it. But it is at the cost of other plunder. The Philippines, the Dutch East Indies, etc. I am playing a game right now where I lost Hawaii but got all 4 ships out and now have Indian Troops in Hong Kong, Singapore, DEIs, and the Philippines has Malayan troops supported by the US HQ. So I am not so sure it’s going to be worth it in the long run.

1) Yes you can move units to Guam/Wake etc. - limit is two troop ships at a time
2) I have same question about holding Hawaii as lost it in recent game and the morale hit is significant. Some players load extra units Dec and that drived down mobilization so Pearl Harbor winds up later.
