Mismatch in losses between main battle screen and battle details

Post by Stamb »

this is screenshot from a Kulik's stream

Image

on top of the battle this battle report shows 38 tanks lost
but when you sum all of the losses in a battle details then it is 56

what is going on there?
which info is correct?
Is it possible to have correct data on top of the battle as well, if it is not correct at the moment?

DESTROYED 'DAMAGED' is likely turned on. I am pretty confident that the filter in question does not work correctly though and possibly has never worked correctly since release.
Selecting the ‘DESTROYED ‘DAMAGED’ option will display in parentheses the number of damaged ground elements that were subsequently destroyed as a result of the battle.
This at the very least is not the behaviour shown to be happening in-game. What happens is that the number for each ground element destroyed goes up: for example if it's 2 without the filter then with the filter turned on it becomes 5.

yes, it is with destroyed damaged

so in the end they are destroyed - gone forever?
In that case game is showing that you suffered less losses than you actually did.

Well, no. It doesn't seem that DESTROYED 'DAMAGED' accurately shows the situation of the division post battle. Look at the StuG situation.

i dont get it
you had 4 ready stugs, 3 damaged

in normal report you lost 1
with DESTROYED "DAMAGED" it says that 2 are lost

it means that 1 was undamaged (before a battle) and lost and 1 damaged (before a battle) and lost, yes?

now after a battle you have
3 ready stugs and 3 damaged
it looks like you only lost 1
but it would make sense if you lost 2
cuz 1 was already damaged and lost and 1 undamaged and lost
right?

i would expect to see 3 ready stugs after a battle, and 2 damaged one.

There is a routine before the battle takes place that may damage elements. There is also a routine after the battle which may damage elements or repair already damaged elements.
