Releases

Post by HercMighty »

I was surprised to see a possible date of September 04 for game 4 (Normandy). Now granted this is a fluid date and many factors will influence this and it may well not happen to 2005. But with this in mind we know there maybe a patch late next week or early the following week.
When is the expansion for HTTR slated for?
What type of idea for Game 3?
And the new games I expect to pay full price and a nominal fee to upgrade my current games, will the new games be by download or retail or both?

I thank you guys for all your hard work and have not been this excited for a series in a long time.

Herc,

Yeh well when it comes to forecasting release dates the crystal ball always looks murky! [;)]

The patch has taken us longer to wrap up than we originally thought. But we're almost done now. Work is underway on the maps and OOBs for the Crete expansion pack. I would hope to see it ready for playtesting by the end of Feb or early March. This would probably see it being released early May.

Game 3 is Battles From the Bulge. We've done most of the maps already and Steve has done most of the new Estabs ( that;s right isn't it Steve [;)] ). Scenario design work on BFTB has been suspended while we're focusing on Crete. However, once I'm free of the patch I'll be diving into the new Resupply code and Paul will be looking into the new Order of Battle window and Force List editor, all slotted for inclusion in BFTB. As to likely release date, well that all depends on just how smoothly the coding goes for these new features and how soon we can wrap up Crete. But not before August this year I would say.

The Crete expansion will be by download. To reduce the size of the download we have added a new feature into the MapMaker that will enable users to create the map cache files ( these are very big ). It will be a case of downloading and then during the installation process of generating the map caches. So this will take a bit longer to install but a lot less to download.

As to BFTB, we'll keep our powder dry on the channel for marketing this. We really want to see how profitable HTTR is via retail first. We'll keep you guys informed closer to the release date.
