Maritime Arctic Air Mass Type does not really exist

I suspected something fairly goofy was going on with the weather.

But guys, the Maritime Arctic (mA) type does not even really exist. Even if it did, it would not suddenly appear over Moscow.

We get Arctic Maritime air masses in the UK at least

I'd be interested in more information on how the weather fronts work as the treatment in the manual is pretty brief.

Isn't the front/air mass the same one that was in the far north in your previous thread? If so isn't this WAD? The airmass is heading from the arctic north southwards and not popping up out of nowhere.

aye, given where I live about 40% of our weather comes off the Arctic/Iceland sector, so unless all those winter gales and odd periods of summer sun are in my imagination then ...
