Yes, I posted that manual excerpt in response to witpqs' query. Occasionally, I do get it right! :o

The interesting location is for the Dutch and PI.

Notice that is excludes air forces...I have had Dutch squadrons reform at Aden that were restricted.

Typo? Chungking is x2 terrain (Urban Light), not x4

Thru Nov 21, 1942

Relatively quiet with troop movement happening...general retreat from the Chungking plains as we await the IJA Tank Divisions which arrived today and will attack tomorrow most likely.

Held the reinforced tanks for a day....it is a pity as one of the Chinese Corps is a US TOE based unit that will eventually get crushed. Worse come to worse I will fly out a fraction of a unit so they can retreat to Kunming area and rebuild.

Dutch subs still effective...even if their torpedoes are a weak. Getting close to when we will transition our American Submarines to offensive economic interdiction.

I wouldn't call Dutch sub torpedoes weak. Most Dutch subs are primarily equipped with the W1 torpedo (including the KXVII here). The W1 torpedo is more powerful than the American Mk14. In game it has a 772 effect versus the Mk14's 643.

Allied naval power is definitely growing...and upgrading. Here we sink two junky AMc's....but it is good experience.

However, these two are Bagley class which is 4 5" guns but 16 torpedoes!....

Burma and China....moving slowly, especially in the tough terrain in Burma. But on the bright side it is very early and we should be in the Magwe plains in strength by December.

A small ambush works to perfection...now to get away without any losses. I know there are one or two Iboats in the area if Saratoga heads back to Pearl or Midway.

From the beginning of the game I wanted to target IJN destroyers...the larger capital ships become submarine targets if you can reduce the destroyer escorts....Yunagi is a Kamikaze class destroyer which is decent for Japan and a nice little sting.

Forgot to fly my Cats into Marcus, have 1700 supplies there now and some aviation support enough for a CAT squadron, but the occasional BB bombardment wipes out the supply stockpile....hopefully forts 3 will greatly reduce the effectiveness of shore bombardments. Need to replenish the CD guns...

Burma....should take Magwe in December sometime, on schedule and hopefully the fuel there will spur Chinese heavy industry at Kunming.

The British navy is looking to make a run past Ceylon and get to Chittagong area to support the Allied push....and to force Japan to allocate more ships here.
