Night moves

Post by generalfdog »

Seems to me night move ships shouldn't be able to attack day move ships and day move ships shouldn't be able to attack night ships. Because otherwise night moves become a kind of cheat where you are hiding from the air force but nothing else and you can still blockade and attack day units who should have air cover, also they should not be able to blockade

That’s a big change. I save an invasion of Australia on turn three by doing a port blockade of their three units with night move. I rotate two stack of Allies navy doing night move each turn.

Also, this is a two weeks turn. When I asked for a better simulation of Tokyo Express, I recall saying that the Japanese ships where coming at night and where escaping during the day because no more in range of the Cactus Air Force.

What if they encounter Allies at this stage?

i know but what I don't like is you can always force a surface combat with CVs even if they are doing day moves just by doing a night which seems a little cheesy

A night action has 50% less chance for spotting.

The CV target has a very low profile in surface combat.

I could put in an added modifier for a CV fleet defender for searching.
