New enthusiast General! But with some questions :)

Post by Montecriz »

Hi everybody!

Above all I want to say that this is a great game, it was longtime that I didn't dig a game like I'm doing with this one, so thank you to developers. I'm playing it since a month, more or less, and I'm having a lot of fun.

For now I'm playing Eagles Day with Germans and at 23th of july 1940 I have 4 in air superiority and 4 in industrial damage, my target is 16, but I still have 0 in Terror.
How does Terror exactly work?

How I can find the max altitude at which brits fighters are less (or more) efficient?

What Radio Europe numbers means? It's just the number of airplanes flying in that moment?

Night bombing really worth the fatigue for my pilots? For now I didn't obtain nothing noticeable.

I'm taking picture of every British airbase but I still have some difficulties in bombing planes while they are still down, often my missions are big failure, how can I be more "lethal" in that ? I understand that the enemy manouvers are meant to make my life harder but I was wondering if I'm missing something in planning my missions.

It's all for now. Thank you and have fun :D

Some general answers,

How I can find the max altitude at which brits fighters are less (or more) efficient?
All 3 major fighters have roughly the same max height, I believe they all share similar performance at heights, with the Hurricane a bit behind. Look to history, the game replicates real life results.

What Radio Europe numbers means? It's just the number of airplanes flying in that moment?
Yes, and allows the RAF to know something is brewing based on radio intercepts without giving any detail as to direction or height.

Night bombing really worth the fatigue for my pilots? For now I didn't obtain nothing noticeable.
I allocate specific groups, usually the individual Kgr including Kgr100 and the Do17 KG. My targets are London and Railyards. Dont expect massive results unless you commit the main force of He111 & Ju88 but the you aren't hitting other targets.

I'm taking picture of every British airbase but I still have some difficulties in bombing planes while they are still down, often my missions are big failure, how can I be more "lethal" in that ? I understand that the enemy manouvers are meant to make my life harder but I was wondering if I'm missing something in planning my missions.
Get the RAF into the sky, more chance of destroyed and pilot loss, sweep behind your raids to get landing aircraft or get fatigued pilots reacting. Wear the RAF down. Your AS 4 shows you are getting results.

Everyone has a theory and a strategy, its a long game, start worrying in September if your results haven't improved

The radio activity actually represents the pilot's clicking their headsets for a radio check before takeoff, so it also tells you when the raids are about to begin.

Take note of the weapons database to get an idea of not only the plane's maximum altitude but also how well it performs over altitude bands.

in Eagle Day, night bombing should be done when you have good moonlight and the moon is up. Take note of moonrise and set and plan your night raids accordingly. Use the He111 that have the navigation devices to lead night groups. You can get good terror results at night if you are persistent, but it will be tough to get it above 1.

Some at-start target damage is random so some games will be tougher and some easier to win.

Thank you very much to you too.

It's 2nd of September 1940 and I'm 6 air sup and 5 industrial damage. 5 points to go.
I still do not understand what "terror" means exactly and other little things but I think I grasp quite all game mechanics. I've to improve all the micromanagement about assigning planes to various airfield and updating planes but overall I think I have the big picture.

Anyway great game.
