Human Win Condition Bugged

Post by TheRooster13 »

I just played my second game as a human. I steamrolled everyone like they were mired in sand, so I thought I'd beeline to a win. I had two or three continental colonies at the time, so I figured the fasted way to the win would be to take over all of the continental colonies. Since there is no easy way to identify continental colonies under other empires' control, I zoomed around the map (fully explored) and checked out every other empire's colonies and sent an invasion force to capture each one. At this point there was only one continental independent colony, so I invaded them too. I had to take over the home world of the other human empire, but it was all complete in a decently short period of time.

The problem was, the scoreboard only showed that I had 35% of the continental colonies, when I should have had 100%. I had 15 continental colonies. So 15/43 = 35%. But there definitely weren't 28 more continental colonies in the galaxy.

Maybe it is calculating based on the number of continental planets/moons? Whatever the explanation, it's not right and makes winning as a human harder than it should be.

Yes, I've noticed it too. It calculates based on total number of planet types instead of colonized planets. It's not that game-breaking to be honest. At least colonizing 28 planets (in your case) is achievable. There are other victory conditions, like the Mortalen's, which have no way of being achieved.
