Turning off Cloud Save

I have observed that: changes which I make to the contents and organization of the
C:\<User>\Documents\My Games\Shadow Empire

Are not retained. For example: I added (a) a child "BackupSaves" directory with more than one grandchild directory (for various campaigns); (b) copy-pasted key files from various campaigns into these new directories and then; (c) deleted the contents of the parent Shadow Empire directory.

However, on a relog some days later I found that the changes I made were gone and the parent directory was reverted to approximately the state it was in before I made any changes.

The most obvious explanation is that the game has some sort of Cloud save functionality by which it saves a copy of my local directory to a directory on Steam's servers.

I would like to completely disable this so that I have complete control over the contents of my local directories. Auto-saves are great, but not being able to manage my own local directory is not acceptable.

I vaguely remember seeing a toggle somewhere that was labeled something like "Cloud Save" but I cannot find it now.

Steam library -> right click on shadow empire -> properties -> uncheck cloud saves

This won't help you much but I do the same thing. I have two subfolders in the \My Games\Shadow Empire directory called In Progress and Wins. I have Cloud Saves enabled and I've never had my folders changed or wiped out.

Yeah I was surprised when it just zapped my folders!
