Looking at the list of four places you have invested, if you capture all of those before year end you will move the needle a lot toward 2:1. :)

Nice progress at Singapore. How many levels did the forts drop to get to 2? At fort level 2, your bombardments should have an even more significant effect.

Can you afford to bombard at Chunking to keep up some of his disruption and use up his supply?

Shanghai will be tough for hitting troops because of forts and Heavy Urban terrain. Can your bombers make any use of City Attack - Manpower or HI/LI?

I think Clark Field will not take very long. Pretty sure the major fortification building on Luzon took place in Manila, but I haven't tested that theory yet.

Chungking is ready to fall over hard in spite of the high fortification level. I am actually waiting for a unit to get to the hex to the SE (off road) so the forces can be destroyed in place and thereby speed subsequent operations.

Singapore will fall within 2 or 3 more attacks, I think.

Fortifications only dropped 1 level. They started at level 8 with strong defenders in place too so we've been paying a high price.

Can you afford to bombard at Chunking to keep up some of his disruption and use up his supply?
Don't think it's necessary at all because they seem to be out already. The 4EB have been doing that job for quite a while. From what I've seen bombarding usually raises the experience level of the defending units, so I'm careful about using it

I would rather not hit the industry in Shanghai at this point. Pretty sure once Allied units enter the place production will stop. Yes? 4EB have just started knocking down supply there but I figure he is stockpiling supply in Shanghai to make it the toughest target possible. This is partly based on seeing so many of Japan's units in China low on supply during combat.

I actually thought about having the 4EB focus on the port at Shanghai instead of the airfield, to make getting supplies produced off to the Home Islands. What do you think?

Yes, if you have intel that ships are visiting Shanghai harbour it should be bombed. You will not be able to tell if supplies are being removed or brought in. I doubt that he would send supply to Japan if he wants his troops to defend as long as possible.

Resources will stop production when your troops invest Shanghai, but HI/LI production of supply will go on as long as there is a stockpile of resources and fuel.

• The 200th Chinese Division is not fatigued (only 10), so it was just a bad die roll. Attack again tomorrow. Supply should be good enough but possibly could be low.

I always liked Ningpo...can be built into a huge base, is open terrain easily bombarded and makes for a great Fletcher port. Although time is waning now...

Yeah, that's the thing. At this point I want the points from Shanghai. Of course the garrison requirement is large, but lots more troops will be available by then.

• 2 enemy units in mountains near Kunming.

• The 2 enemy units our valiant pursuers were to engage on the road to Chengtu have slipped away into the mountains. Scoundrels!

• Our pursuers on the Tsuyung - Chengtu road are moving to contact the enemy opposite our roadblock.

• Counting the units just slipped off the road (but not the 2 units farther back near Kunming), there are about 11 enemy units either opposite or working around our roadblock.

• Armored cars and tanks moving to engage enemy units east of Chengtu.

• A Bde moving to Kienko to guard that intersection.

• A Bde has 14 miles to move - probably 4 days - to complete encirclement of Chungking.

• 4,292 AV at Chungking.

• The supply route for the spearhead is now open. The defeated IJA 131st Division is moving west, away from the battle. Armored cars will remain on scene while the regiments move into Chuhsien and reform the complete division.

• A brigade is moving eastward from Pucheng to clear nearby enemy units.

• None of the spearhead moved into Hangchow today but most or all will arrive there tomorrow.

Now taking predictions on when Singapore falls and when Chungking falls. For each: this attack?; the next attack?' and so on.

I get the impression that Chungking is full of beat-up units but has high forts and urban terrain, so 4 attacks will be necessary.

Singapore has better units defending but they have been battered regularly. Very high forts likely mean 5 attacks will be necessary.

My bet is two attacks left for both.
