Silly Fuel Usage Question

Post by scout1 »

Once there are US troops in England, particularly air units (escorts/strategic bombers, etc ....)

Where do they draw their fuel usage from ?
- English stocks ?
- US stocks ? If so, just how getting them to england is accounted for ?

UK is a main supply source for the Allies in any city that is 10pp or higher. If all of those are captured then the ports are the source.

I'm guessing this is showing my lack of game play and a poor description to my question ... let me try again ...

Lets say its late 1943 .... the US has sent a boatload of strategic bombers to England and they're bombing the snot out of the axis as often as they can ... The US has a boat load of oil on their production screen .... UK has almost no oil (because Roosevelt got ticked off at Churchill and cut off all oil trade with the UK) .......

Do the US bombers continue to have an oil source ? If so, from US stockpiles ?
Do the UK bombers get grounded when the UK runs out of oil ? Or do they get to steal US stockpiles ?

This may be a very basic question which has escaped me .... just thought I'd ask

So in this particular case for the US flyboys, their oil source which comes thru an english port doesnt need to use any MM and doesn't have to run the uboat gaunlet getting there ?

Technically so. Supply convoys are difficult to implement.

Next game I am considering supply dumps where stuff is transported. I have to measure if I can do it reasonably without each turn taking 5m like it does in WitP or if I can't. I don't think I can. WitP/WitE takes forever to do a turn.

WP isn't that level of game. It would have to be done easily without burdening the player.
