Army Group A Turn 63

Again this week resting a lot of troops and building up supplies and ammunition, the Pz's are looking strong but i just want one more week of rest.

6th Armee looks worst for ware as some of its units are below 5 CCP, again 17th Armee is doing most of the work for Army Group A.

As I predicted and expected the soviets are preparing to make there stand at Stalingrad with forts forming along the Rivers.

Army Group B Turn 63

1st Pz Armee continues to rest and 17th Armee and 4th Romanian make only small advances, the troops are exhausted.

Further South the Hungarians and 11th Armee continue on making good headway as the rest of the 8th Italian Army arrives as well as the rest of 11th Armee.

Getting closer to Grozny every week and the Italians have begun there push through the Mountain ranges.

Supply Turn 63

Still receiving excellent supply despite the weather turning, this will really help when the weather really hits hard.

Gee even both the 3rd and 1st Hungarian Armies back in there homeland and actually needs no supplies has a bonanza of food and fuel and ammunition.

losses and OB turn 63

Very little in the way of losses to both sides, however in fact this would have to the first time The Red Army has less losses, as could not trap many units as either they fell back faster than I could advance or just attacked and routed them.

Well I lost 2 planes and no pilots that's a good thing but even the Soviets only lost 13 planes, could this number be a bad omen for things the come ?.

The Russians are starting to gain more manpower as I just cant catch them still I wont be pushing the panic button any time soon.

AG North Turn 64

In the far North 28th Korps has reached Vytegra time to form a defensive line and dig in, there is a lot of area to cover so all units will be broken down to cover the front line.

Heavy fighting around Cherepovets as the bulk of 18th Armee pushes towards the city. while most of enemy was either routed or pushed back i did manage to to trap 2 Red Army units against the lake.

Further South both 16th and 9th Armee's drive the Soviets back across The Volga River and almost take Rybinsk, Kashin is taken and the enemy forces are now threatened with encirclement unless they pull back.

I plan to stop my advance in the North at Yarosalvl, need the rail lines to catch up.

AG Centre Turn 64

3rd Pz plus parts of 9th Armee move against the defenders at Vladimir and destroy the two small pockets formed earlier, this also forces the enemy defending along Volga two choices, stay and be cut off or fall back.
AGC 64.jpg
AGC 64.jpg (1.01 MiB) Viewed 815 times

Further south both 2nd and 3rd Pz Armee's push East and create a number of pockets, originally I was just going to dig in around Ryazan but I want to have a straight defensive line and not some convoluted one so the city will be encircled and besieged.

Launched my first attack against North Moscow to reduce the defences, I want to take both it and South Moscow as I have a lot of troops tied down here and Army Group Centre's front line is long and I need the Infantry to take over where the Panzers are and pull them back to rest and refit.

I'm also having to break down a lot of units to cover the line, and its only going to get worse once units get pulled to and sent to other theatres soon.

Again virtually no movement from the entire group I plan to give them a full rest, the weather is still good at this time.

I Know this will give the Soviets some breathing space to form lines and bring more forces into play but i cant see them stopping me that much, my casualties might be a little higher but should not be dramatic.

Things are different down in the Caucasus Mountains and along the Black Sea Coast.

The Axis Allies and 11th Armee continues its drive towards Grozny and Batumi , here the Soviets are putting up some resistance.

Supply, Leaders and Intel Reports Turn 64

This weather has done wonders for the ability to supply my troops even down in the Caucasus, partisan activities are being suppressed, the Red Air Force is offering little resistance.

The only things really slowing the Army down is exhaustion and fatigue from the rapid advances.

Losses Turn 64

A modest amount this week considering there has been very little movement in the South and most of the attacks that did take place cause the enemy to route.

Though we did lose more Tanks this week.

Cherepovets is isolated from sustained attacks, the bulk of the defenders are routed,18th Armee has no real opposition facing them.

16th Armee destroys the small pocket south of the city, Rybinsk is taken with ease as the first of Army Group North's troops cross the Volga.

The Russians seem to have weak second line units up in the North at this present time which are in no position to stop my drive.

AG Centre Turn 65

3rd Pz Armee and 9th Armee continue to push North East and East respectively to consolidate, the Rayazan perimeter is also expanded.

The Volga river is now crossed in multiple places as Red Army troops fall back or are routed from the positions.

I will continue to push towards Vladimir so as to stop the the Red Air force airlifting into Moscow.

Army Group A Turn 65

I have recommenced my drive to Stalingrad I feel the troops have rested enough.

The new offensive opens with a couple of small pockets as I get 4th Pz Armee into position for its use as the Northern pincer arm.
Army Group A 65.jpg
Army Group A 65.jpg (853.69 KiB) Viewed 711 times
17th Armee ( part ) which is supporting the drive also kicks off its push as the Southern arm of the pincer.

The Soviets have thrown a wall up to bar the way to Stalingrad, but I don't think its going to be enough, I have overwhelming numbers here.

From the looks at there individual units strength numbers they have 2 maybe 3 strong units the rest look weak and under powered.

Army Group B Turn 65

Its getting late into the year now, so like the other Army Groups the Caucasus force now begins its drive in earnest.

Using Romanian cavalry to flip hexes, 1st Pz Armee moves forward, the Hungarians will now have a bit of a break.

The drive towards Grozny has slowed up somewhat as I bring more units forward, I am going to secure the perimeter around the oil centre of Mozdok as the Soviets are moving troops up.

Still have to deal with the port garrisons along the Black Sea coast which will slow things down.

16th Armee continues to push back the enemy as just about all the Armee moves across the river towards Yaroslavl, it appears the units facing the Armee are low strength, it should not be hard to drive them away so I can begin to dig in here also.

Heavy attacks east of Moscow which result in routes and pockets for the defenders, I am trying to push behind the forces facing 16th Armee in the hope of getting a fairly large pocket, will have see how this turns out.

I have better luck South of the capital as once again 2nd Pz Armee traps a fair size pocket, with year getting late i have decided to send 1 Inf Korps from 2nd Pz to Moscow, I need to capture the 2 Moscow suburbs before the winter weather really hits.

I means weakening the line places but I cant see the AI really hurting me at this time.
