Parachute drops

Post by Ldeathbow »

I want a quick answer - why can't a flight of 21 H6K5 Mavis airplanes - COMBINED load value of 74,088 NOT deliver all of one parachute infantry troop with a load value of 949?!? IF it's because the infantry unit has devices that the game can't/won't allow to be dropped from a plane....I'd call that BAD unit configuration.

I've been trying to get a Parachute infantry unit to deploy...But I always get 1/3 of the force to fly on the first day, and (as I recall) can't get the rest to deploy unless I land in that hex (which mat not even HAVE an airstrip).

Specific application - I'm playing Japan, I own most of the Malaya peninsula (maybe a week left "mopping-up"), and I've got the 1st raiding rgt in Mersing, along with a flight of 24 H6K5 Mavis aircraft in Mersing. I want the 1st to attack Sumatra, preferably Palembang (need oil - that one location will put me on a positive oil base,,,allowing the war to continue). The first has a 949 load cost with an attack value of 39. I assign a flight of 21 Mavis (with a listed load cost of 3528 EACH) yet having just run the turn, Palembang has 1st raiding\1 AV2, and Mersing still has 1st raiding AV 21.

I have 21 aircraft dedicated to delivering these paratroopers with a loading cost of 949 (should have fit in ONE aircraft if it indeed has a load value of 3528) to an enemy held position but I can't get enough troops in a day delivered to even be a nuisance - of the original 39, I delivered 18...they got shredded and now are holding on by a thread with 2 AV in Palenbang. The units combat number (total value) has been cut by 33%, and I can't guarantee I can get reinforcements to that site before the unit is completely wiped. Palembang is even JUST at the 9 hex command radius of the Southern Army...so I think units would have "borrowed support"

Maybe posting in the game specific sub-forum helps you get an answer?
