A way for generic data not touch?

Post by HOTEC »

I use the Editor to make 100% damage of Manpower and Railyard in Orel. Once I play, there are no damage. If I load the generic data and change it from there, when play, the damages are there disregarding which scenario I play.

Although I have backup the generic data, I really do not want to upset the generic data. Is there any other way to do it like WitE?

There are many scenarios available for play but they are used one set generic data. How do they do it? Just curious.

I think I posted the answer to this in the tech support forum.

There are 43 matches for generic in tech support but none by DarkHorse2.

Kindly, if you may, post the link or other information provided?

Some files are actually semi-generic. That means some fields that are in those files are pulled from the generic data, and others are pulled from the scenario data. I think part of what Pavel is working on in the editor is to make it more clear what is what, as well as allowing to lock those generic items if desired. An example of semi-generic would be the city file, where the name and locations of cities are generic, but the storage of fuel and supplies in the cities are not generic and are pulled from the scenario file.
All understanding comes after the fact.
