I've got a saves at the start of the German turn 13, Soviet turn 13 and German turn 14. I could use more details. What side is not intercepting, and during which turn/phase? Sorry, but I can't keep all these games in my mind so I have no idea what I'm checking for without more details. Ideally if you can tell me the phase you're asking about (German air/German ground/Soviet air/Soviet ground) and then if there is an area of the map in particular that I should be looking at for battles with no interception, I will try to have a look.

you can watch air battles
there was enormous amount of GA

overall you dont even need my game

you can use any game to replicate

just select any plane in any phase in any nation and make GA and enjoy no interception

same with recon
it is not intercepted at all

Yes, auto intercepts in the air phase are difficult now. What increases the chance is having high level airfields near the front, and fighters forward. It's one of the air game issues on the list to look at as we probably want auto intercepts to be a bit easier. On the other hand, I set up quick AS missions flying in the enemy phase, one covering the Luga line and one covering the Dnepr Bend (had to move one of the fighter AOGs forward in the south as it was too far back to cover). After doing that, I managed to intercept a number of raids, losing 103 fighters in the air (plus 22 op losses) to 86 Axis a/c lost in the air (not many escorts flying). That's an extremely good loss ratio for the Soviets. Yes, flying AS missions are risky as you take some op losses and you may not intercept anything (or you may face a fighter sweep). But if you have a decent idea where you're going to get hit, why not risk it?

Has the changes to auto-intercepting GA in the air phase been implemented since the last post? I thought there was but am not sure atm. Am asking since my fighters are also not intercepting any GA at all unless they are very close (4 hexes away).

No, I don't think anything has been changed regarding auto-intercepts in the air phase. There were changes/fixes to AS, but I don't remember how long ago those were. I discussed this with Gary and Pavel today and we're bumping this up so Pavel takes a look at the saves that I have from 6 months ago to see if anything is obviously broken, or if not, if there's some adjustments he can recommend. We know the AS system can work well, but ideally we'd like to see a little more auto-interception than we're seeing now (especially against repeated strikes into the same area). The thing is the early warning systems were not all that great in the early part of the war, so it was much easier to get in and get out without interception than it was later on, especially when attacking near the front. AS missions allow you to put protection over an area, and it does seem to work well now, but it does require more work by the player. Let's see what Pavel finds when he looks at this.
