Monitor Help!

Post by James Taylor »

It's not too long after I start Vic's Ardennes Offensive that I find myself squinting at my laptop's 17 inch screen. Yeah sure, I can change the resolution, but lets face it there is a loss of quality.

So, I'm looking for some suggestions for a monitor big enough that I can avoid some eyestrain. Doesn't have to be the best, I'll settle for second best.

System is intel i7, 16G ram, win11, and GeForce 1660 Ti, 1920 X 1080 resolution. I'll go up to a 32" monitor, not sure about curvature.

Anyone with suggestions would be appreciated.

I use a 43" 4K TV as my monitor. Hugely cheaper than a 'real' monitor. Fine for most tasks, esp if you mainly play slower games.

Cheers

I was hoping for something a little more portable than a large TV screen.

Since my laptop is an Alienware, I was looking at some Dell monitors which aren't very expensive up to the 32 inch versions.

The Alienware monitors are way overpriced for my wargaming applications, I don't need those fast refresh rates in the turn based games I play.

Thanks for the suggestions.

For my laptop, I picked up a Dell 27" monitor, P2719H. Got it on sale for a good price. DCAO does display on it in windowed mode and no squinting (tho' I do wear cheaters when I'm on the machine :geek: ), but I found I had to tweak the window height in the windows.txt file to 1050px to keep the bottom of the screen from truncating.
