Finally!

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

Finally!

Post by John David »

Along with SPWAW Mega Campaigns and Uncommon Valor, I now finally have KP in my wargame library. I am looking forward to re-learning this game, as I have TAO, and want to tackle this much improved version.

Funny, though I am a good player with other wargames like SPWAW, UV, TOAW, etc..., I always had trouble with TAO. I found the tutorials for TOA weak and I just didn't get the mechanichs right and always lost because of time constraints. I heard and read that KP's tutorials were much better. After having looked at them I can see why. Hopefully I will improve and become a better player then I was with TAO.

It's great to be part of the KP community!

And remember to download the 2 patches.

And other scenarios can be downloaded at RUN 5: http://run5.wargamer.com

And there is another forum at Run 5 with interesting tips.

John,
I think you'll be happy with KP. If you're up for a pbem game, I'll give you a go. I'm on the KP ladder at www.theblitz.org come on over and join the ladder (it's on the "classic wargame ladder" along with TAO)
Let me know if you'd like to play. Herb

Just to mention along with HerbMaine's suggestion that Run5 - http://run5.wargamer.com/ also has a ladder going, and is currently running a tournament with some of my fellow SSG compatriots playing.

To Herb and alexs,

Thanks for the invite, and I will keep it in mind, but I've got quite a bit of learning and playing vs. the AI before I will want to try this against a human! If and when I do, it would be appreciated if whoever I play walks me through a PBEM game and helps me get comfortable with it. I'm sure I will make a few mistakes along the way at the start.

As I said in my opening post in this thread, I wasn't a very good player with TAO, so it's back to the drawing board for me with KP!

Thanks again for the invite, I hope maybe later this year to take you fellas up on a game!
