Is there any update on releasing the editor updates? I thought that it was said that it would get released the first quarter of 2022. Just looking for an estimate here.

Unfortunately I don't have good news on the editor. Pavel has not had much time to put into the game lately, and what time he has had over the past several months ended up getting used mostly on diagnosing some crash bugs and a few other major issues that we needed him to help on. I don't have an ETA on the editor changes because so much is a function of how much time he can put into the game, and that's out of all of our control. If he was working full time on this it would probably be done in a few weeks, but this is a part time thing. I know it's disappointing news, for all of us, including Pavel. We've been working on creating expansion scenarios, and we were hoping that we'd have the improved editor for that work. We also want to give people the ability to lock generic data, and we want all of you to have the improvements so it's easier for user created scenarios. There's some hope he will have more time in the near future. Soon we'll be looking for new testers to test the expansion scenarios. If your interested in helping test the revised editor when it's ready, you might consider signing up to be an expansion scenario tester.

Any chance UI scaling is going to be addressed in the editor?

I am going blind trying to use it now.

Yes, that's part of what Pavel has been working on for some time now. But once his scaling becomes possible in the editor, we don't plan on scaling everything. It could take a long time to make all the changes so we're going to try to be strategic in what we do. Pavel has also been changing some of the layout of some of the screens, but how much gets done and when is still unclear. We hope in June his work to date will be incorporated into the current beta stream and we'll be able to start releasing parts that are scaling and/or with the new layout.

I am using the editor and it works pretty well. Factory production, those must still get manually updated/added still, will there be an enhancement for this in the future? Will it be a CSV download?

I don't know if this is on Pavel's list. Getting more of the CSV capability to be up to date is on the list, but not sure about the specifics or timing at this point. Having a few more people on the test team that are actively using the editor would be helpful. There are a finite amount of improvements/changes we can afford to make as Pavel needs to shift over to working on some game items before too long.

Is there any update on releasing the new editor updates?
Will there be ".CSV" file downloads/uploads for the editor pages?
Just looking for an estimate here.

It is already possible to upload/download .CVS files. Just use the old editor and go to the CVS tab.

Thank you for your reply. I wasn't clear in my status request, I am inquiring for the status of having download pages/links for ALL the editor pages, I know about the present ones that already exist. It would be most helpful to have them for all editing sections.

Here is what I see in the NEW editor.

There are 17 fields in the NEW Editor -> Scenario, Unit, AOG, Air Group, Event, Location, Weather, TOE (OB), Leader, Ground Element, Ground Type, Device, Aircraft, Air Profile, Nation, Factory, CSV

There are 15 fields in the old editor, with Nat/Weather has 6 sub fields that can be edited: Main, +Game Event Editor, Units, Air Group, +Air Operational Groups, Locations, Leaders, TOE(OB), +TOE(OB) Chains, Ground Elem, +Ground Types, Aircraft, +Air Profiles, Device, Nat/Weather (Morale, Color, Production Modifiers), +Edit Weather Effects (River Costs, Weather Fronts, Movement Costs), CSV

Here is how the old and new match up:
Scenario -> Main
Unit -> Units
AOG -> Air Operational Groups
Air Group -> Air Group
Event -> Game Event Editor
Location -> Locations
Weather -> Nat/Weather
TOE (OB) -> TOE(OB)
Leader -> Leaders
Ground Element -> Ground Elem
Ground Type -> Ground Types
Device -> Device
Aircraft -> Aircraft
Air Profile -> Air Profiles
Nation -> Nat/Weather
Factory ->
CSV -> CSV

The user can now download using the old editor CSV files for: Units, OB Types, Cities, Leaders, Air Groups, Aircraft, Ground Elements, Devices, MAP Text, Pilot, Pilot Name, City Owner, Hex Art

These fields below are not implemented for a CSV download.

Can you implement a CSV download in the NEW editor for: AOG (Air Operational Groups), Event, Weather, Ground Type, Air Profile, Nation, Factory, Nation (Morale, Color, Production Modifiers), Weather Effects (River Costs, Weather Fronts, Movement Costs)?

Just my thought, implementing the CSV download will GREATLY enhance the creation of NEW scenarios? It will make the effort MUCH EASIER :-)

I spoke with Pavel yesterday and we really can't give you a timeframe. Most of the time he has to work on the game now goes to working on the new editor, although there have been occasional non-editor items that have taken some of his time (including wrapping up Steel Inferno). Since the new editor is integrated into the game, most of the smaller changes go into the update stream immediately, but there are a few items he's working on that won't be activated immediately as they'll need more testing before they can go out. Trey has done a lot of work putting together what he calls OB 2.0 that is an improved OB file. Based on Trey's request, Pavel is also coming up with a system to sort some of the lists other than by slot number, and doing a few other things to assist Trey in prepping for his new OB. Since Trey and Randy are the ones using the editor to produce official scenarios (something that's incredibly time consuming), we've been trying to make some improvements that will help them in their ongoing work. Although we've made the editor available to the public, we just don't have the bandwidth to document it and make it fully featured. Pavel's desire to improve the editor and make it easier for all has run into real life issues of limited time to work on the game. We'd discussed the CSV status and he's aware of how useful it would be to have more CSV capabilities, but it's one of many things that could be improved. For downloading info, Pavel suggests using the export feature in the CR screen, as you can get a lot of info there. Of course there's no way to import this info. I wish I could give you a more definitive answer, but that's where we're at.
