This question has probably been answered before, but under Ship Production what does the status Pending mean?

I've used tracker for years BUT am still full of questions concerning various reports and how to use the information they provide.

I’ve been starting to make tutorial videos for this game with a modern 2022 feel. I have a good understanding of the basic functions of the tracker. Would you like me to put together a tutorial video on this program?

BC (can't keep up with BananaConvention),

Far be it from me, a lone voice on the arid landscape of Tracker, to encourage you to do anything. HOWEVER, that's exactly what I would like to see, someone talking folks through tracker and just how to read it's various displays. Of course Floyd did his very best to make it self-explanatory, but given my feeble abilities, I have failed him AND tracker. I still find that, even given my less than optimal understanding, tracker is an exceptional tool to use especially if you're playing the Japanese. Therefore, anything you can do would be of help. Thanks in advance. Hal

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, however I'm assuming that we need to get vaccinated in order to view your videos! But I think masks should be optional. Just sayin'!!!!

There are a lot of videos out there right now for this game but they’re dated. I’m starting to make new ones that are current. I’ll tackle the Tracker in my next set of videos. I’ll probably make it a three parter. Part one will be installation and setup/configuration. Part two will be basic functionality, and part 3 will be a detailed look at the screens and what they mean/how to use them all.

I present you parts 1 and 2 of my WitPTracker 1.11 tutorial. Part 1 is installation and basic troubleshooting, and part 2 is how to set it up to load turns from your save game files. Part 3 will be the big one (it'll be ready tomorrow night) where I talk about all the screens and charts/data sets. Thanks man, no rush! I did notice an error in part 2, I should have been more specific about alerts vs. data when loading up. On initial turn load, no alerts are created until another turn is loaded. The rest of the data is there. I'll clarify that on Part 3 video tomorrow that alerts vs. data sets and how they're derived.

The videos look good. Thanks for doing this. When you do the final one, you might want to be able to zoom into the data displays to make it more visible during your explanations. You also might want to run the video by Floyd to get his take before you post. Just a thought. Thanks again. Hal

Hey Xargun,

The status "PENDING" means the ship is/was in progress (or should be in progress) of building, but an insufficient amount of shipyard points are available to proceed with the building. Typically you will see this when you're accelerating other ship(s) productions and it's eating up more build points than you currently have to use for all the ships you're actively building, and you've not sufficiently increased your naval and/or merchant shipyard production points, or you haven't halted other projects to make up the difference. I'll be making a video on this shortly in my WitPTracker Tutorial series.

I think the two things I'd like to add to Tracker areL

1. The ability in the Device under type to remove everything that's not a land device.

2. Under device history add a column for need running track of how many devices are needed.

Thank you! I did reach out to Floyd to ask him some questions about Tracker as well as let him know I made these videos he has not replied. Per his profile he hasn’t been active on the forums since December 2021 so I don’t know how soon I will get a response.

Just watched video 5 on Ship Building and it was wonderful. I didn't realize you could change the settings on that screen - I've been crunching numbers in excel and on paper for years. Thank you thank you.... I only noticed one little bug - the opening screen says its video 5 of 3 :) Thank you for doing these, they have opened my eyes to the full capacity of this.

Thank you! The Ship Construction Section of Tracker is incredibly powerful. It's by far my favorite function of the program as a Japanese player.

And the 5 of 3 is not a mistake! This series ballooned into a 6 parter when I had initially intended for it to be 3, so I just left the denominator as a joke.

BC, I've viewed all your videos and I have to say thanks, they were informative. I've used tracker for a long time and you were able to expand my knowledge which is always a good thing. One aspect I fear you might want to explore further for a Japanese player is aircraft and engine management (this is not needed for Allied players). One thing that is vital for the JFB is to know what planes to produce and how many engines to manufacture to complement that production. This is a vital area and I would argue a more important area than ship production for a JFB (which you did a good job in explaining). There are a number of factors that I was hoping you might focus on. First, how to use tracker to facilitate the matching of engines to planes currently in production and next, in projected production. Another aspect is the utility of tracker in maintaining an eye on upgrades of engine factories and planes. In particular the tracing of plane "lineage" or defined upgrades vs. undefined upgrades (as there are grave penalties if one steps outside the defined path). In short, how can one use tracker to help manage the whole aircraft industry from opening salvo to final flyby. Now I'm aware that much of the management is subjective, which depends upon the player's likes, dislikes, style of play, etc., HOWEVER, many aspects of the mechanics are hardwired into the production process. How does tracker help here? It's just a simple request, right????? Hal
