LoneRunner wrote: Mon May 02, 2022 4:42 pm Thank you EarlyDoors for maintaining the ELO rankings. I know it can be a lot of work collecting and organizing the data.

Let's make EarlyDoors' task a little easier by adopting a standard format for reporting ELO games.

When starting an ELO game, make sure that both players agree that the game will be ELO rated. Don't assume that the other guy knows you only play ELO games.

I thought the Taifun/Jackmck format was good for reporting a new ELO game:

New ELO game:

Race to Victory 39 scenario.
Taifun (Axis) vs Jackmck (Allies). Standard ELO rules.

Make sure to state the scenario being played. Start with the Axis player. State any special rules used for the game.

For reporting the results of a game, I thought Dmitry's format was good:

ELO Ended:

Lonerunner (axis) lost to DmitryN (allies)

Start with the losing player and state the result clearly. In a subsequent paragraph, it would be great if you provided a short description of the battle.

Hope that helps. EarlyDoors, please let us know if you would like any additional information.
Yep, thats great. Thx

Game 3 in our series ends exactly like the last one with a last turn (May 1947) Japanese surrender
Man my nerves are shot

Allied Decisive Victory
Germany didn't really contest North Africa but ploughed everything into Russia.
Captured the Arctic Convoy with overland attacks on Murmansk and ArchAngel
Also seized Moscow and Leningrad
Allies were able to force Italian surrender in 42/43 but Hungarian forces held Rome for another 3 years
China surrendered to Japan
Germany finally fell in 1946
Then Allies went for Japan

Solid Game

New ELO game started:

We have agreed usual ELO rules plus no early UK DoW against Japan and no early Japanese strategic bomber attacks against Russian transport links in Siberia.
ELO Ended:

firsteds (Axis) lost to Marcinos1985 (Allies)

Interesting game, where Japan pulled the trigger in the middle of 1941, with Allied defenses nonexistent. On the other side of the globe Germans were active in north USSR, depriving all convoy income for majroity of campaign. Still, Allied MPP machine prevailed and game ended in the middle of 1943. Good game.

ELO game started between Brian1972 (axis) and Scoldgamer (allies). Hopefully i can give him a run for his money in my first MP game.

Game ended end of 1942. Allies (scoldgamer) won. I learned a lot of valuable lessons this game including the importance of diplomacy. congrads to scoldgamer.

The World at War ELO Tournament - Suggestions

Post by kjgokc2007 »

I would suggest that we select a standard Password for ELO games... so if you post a game anyone that wants to play an ELO game will already know the PW. (4 characters required, I might suggest GameOn or something simple myself).

I would also suggest that each player only use one post and update it so we don't have a million post to try to find out who is doing what and who won vs who...

Format:

Start Date You (Side) vs Them (side) - Game Notes - Winner, End date

Start Date You (Side) vs Them (side) - Game Notes - Winner, End date

Start Date You (Side) vs Them (side) - Game Notes - Winner, End date

Start Date You (Side) vs Them (side) - Game Notes - Winner, End date

Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

Giving away a players strategy might not be good for game notes...

I have an ELO game up now 06/05/2022 Allies (still testing my Russian Defense...) PW kjgokc2007

Hi Kenny - I'm on a losing streak with the Axis but I'm a glutton for punishment.

Usual ELO rules. My only additional request is that you do not use the early Allied attack vs Japan please. Still waiting for an update to fix that.

Good luck & I'll see you in Poland.
