Game event alerts need updating.

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Game event alerts need updating.

Post by wobbleguts »

As an example, I was playing as the UK, early 1941 and pulled off a strategically genious move to re-take Noway. My next planned genious move was to take Sweden and Finland.I was building up to this, but suddenly the map showed German units attacking Gibraltar. There was no warning or notification about this. Why not?

If I'm understanding correctly, your opponent carried out a surprise assault on Gibraltar.

Was this via Spain or was it an amphibious assault?

Via Spain. It would have been nice to have a major alert that this had happened.

There is a chance of this happening, but only from January 1944 if the US have built links with Spanish Republicans (DE 309).

The problem being that it would have taken time to build up a rapid method of collecting and passing information of Axis movements that could be used in a timely manner by the Allies, that is one in addition to the normal in-game Allied methods of a) aerial reconnaissance and b) Spying & Intelligence research spotting hidden units.

That said, I think it is in error that it is from January 1944 as other scripts triggered by the same Decision Event fire in 1943, so I will make a note to change this one to match those, so thanks for mentioning this.
