[1.0.4.3]Ground defense strenght is wrong on every single UI element

Post by zgrssd »

The System and Planet card tells me, the enemy Capitol has a defense strenght of 1143.
The ground view claims a defense strenght of 617.
1143/708 once the current Infantry unit finishes

The Actuall defense strenght after invading is 1744.
Something closer to the sum of both UI values then either of those values.
The System and Planet view tell me it is 1922 instead. So the value is not even right with a running invasion.

Three values I want to know for every planet:
- the current strenght when I would invade, including militia
- the current strenght of the non-garissioned forces (so I know how much designated invasion power is on that planet)

And I want this value to be on every UI element and be consistent on every UI element.

I suspect, at least in part, it is due to when you look from Orbit, you see just the Raw troop values.
When you land you see the numbers modified by Techs, Generals, Space control, Buildings, etc...

This is misleading and should be noted somewhere. I know I have seen when I land that my XXXX force strength on the ground never matches what was in the ships.

It should not be a hard operation:
1. Calculate a total defense value for the planet
2. Display said value on every UI element

This for some reason has two completely seperate formulas, that are used alternatively.
There are some kinds of Problems that just happen when programming something as complex as a game.
This however is a problem where you have to do considerable work to even make the issue possible.
At least they should collapse it to one faulty formula used everywhere, so I can start getting a feel for how wrong the game is.

Wait. Do you actually need to see the strength of the enemy ground forces? Smells like cheating.

Yes, it is. The game provides too much information which is great help for a player.
Like amount of ground forces. Like designs of enemy ships. Like enemy population and colony numbers.
But this is off-topic, yes.

mmhh ....
you can see it, that this is "to much - normal not available to an other Empire" information ....
but then it should clarified that the numbers are estimations from your spy teams .. or from orbit info gathering ...
simply clear "what" you get .... and i see on no guide/help a word about this ....
So i musst assume it is "the real" numbers ... would be nice to know for an leader of an galactic empire ...
