There's sol, there's my colony ship full of humans - still can't colonise

My colony ship is next door to the Ancient Slave Colony aka Sol, chock full of 80M human colonists and the option for colonization is not there. This is despite the colony repeated sending messages saying they want me to colonize. Any clues?

It is usually in a nebula that somehow inhibits colonization range. What does your "new colony" overview say? I believe you can get a tooltip there.

I have a similar situation (not the first time). It seems almost impossible to colonize planets that are inside a nebula cloud (colonize button disabled: "outside of colonization range", even if the planet is very close and clearly inside the colonization range).

I've ordered the construction of a colony ship in my capital (left it on automatic). There are only Mortalens on my capital, yet, the colony ship, once built, is full of Boskaras (I had not queued any planet for colonization at that point). So I've ordered another colony ship, but this time I've switched it to manual before it was built.

Once the construction was finished, I've ordered it to get colonists from my capital, which it did. All this is to colonize Mars, which is inside a nebula. So I've ordered the ship to move near Mars, and from there I intend to try ordering it to colonize Mars.

We'll see if it works. But meanwhile, the ship is going trough a weird trajectory to reach Mars. I'd like to understand why (or if it's a bug). I've post about it here:

This screenshot I posted shows my colony ship literally in orbit around Sol, so the nebula has had no effect in stopping me getting there. A ctrl-right click on the planet, offers no colonization option. Something is very broken.

I've posted a bug report about this:
