About the 81mm GrW 34 Mortar...

Post by DarkHorse2 »

A little curious about this Ground Element.

(of course I am going to provide a picture to look at... :D )

6 men Mortar Section, looks about right for a "heavy" mortar section.
Add in the 6 rifles. (all good?)

Now, lets take that same 81mm mortar and load it on a half-track.

cool..... already like the sound of this... :D
Sd.Kfz. 251/2 - Schützenpanzerwagen (Granatwerfer). 81 mm Mortar carrier. Carried 66 rounds for the GrW34. A base plate was also stored so that the mortar could be offloaded and used

Loading our 81mm Mortar on half-track also adds 2 more people to our Mortar Section, including a 7.92 MG34 AAMG.

:?: :?: Questions :?: :?:

1. What happened to our previous 6 rifles? Did some ordnance Nazi come collect them?

2. Why is our 81mm Mortar suddenly burning through 3x as much ammo now... with negligible impact on performance? We suddenly got all hyper over our new wheels? :P

... just wondering...

1. always wondered what is ammo use at all?
it is how much freight is needed to fulfill needs of 1 element to be at 100% of its need?

2. which units of measurement are used?

Yeah, the units of measurement are all over the place in this game.

Armed halftracks do not have a dismount capability in the game, so their crews are treated the same as tank crews with no personal weapons.

Ammo use is based on rounds fired per minute. The halftrack mounted mortar has an ROF one round greater than the carried version. It's been so long ago that I can't recall why the difference exists, but I have no problem equating them. I will add the change to the next data update.
