Just to confirm. New ELO game started a little while ago. We're already in October '40.

kjgokc2007 (Allies) vs petedalby (Axis) full game.

Standard ELO rules plus no dodgy early Allied attack on Japan.

New Elo Game finished archmache (Allies) vs DavidDailey (Axis). Allied victory. Fun first Elo game.

Summary:

Germany invaded Poland but Russia decided not to swoop in from the East. USSR mobilization stayed at 25% after the fall of Warsaw, allowing for the much needed mobilization to allow for spending into heavy research. USSR declined to invade Finland (saving mobilization hits on USSR and US) while France, China, and the UK poured diplomatic dollars into Finland, flipping it allied. Siberian troopers began the long march to the Volga. Three carriers naval cruised into submarines, losing 5 health each; however none were suck and not a single MPP was lost to convoys as all subs were found before raiding, which was a plus.

Germany began a very slow march on France, but UK troops hightailed it out immediately - leaving the French to inevitably fall. Meanwhile in Italian East Africa UK troops failed to take into account lack of supply ... three tactical bombers were operated in ... however they could not be attacked to Sudan or SA HQ rendering them useless with no Ground Attack weapons. Paris, fell; Vichy, formed.

Out of nowhere, Axis bombers raid Malta day after day. Malta falls to an incredible bombardment, fortunately the DAK stayed in Europe ... tactical error by Axis ... Egypt was wide open due to the fiasco in Italian East Africa. Axis fighters took up station in France with a vet 7 German HQ. Total Axis dominance over Europe. British RAF grounded all fighters until the USA could come. Meanwhile the 75 MPP torpedoes with level 2 ASW were hitting the subs in their pens ... a nice containment strategy.

Then big Barbarossa hit but was stopped flat on the first turn. USSR declined the Baltic states, thereby saving the Northern army that spawned. No units to fights Finland increased Smolensk defense (3 lvl 2 AT are hard to pop). Unfortunately for Axis, he had operated his plane to France to bomb my destroyers and carriers that were hitting the sub pens - no stukas in the east is a no-go for Axis.

USSR immediately hit back, destroyed a corps, army, and knocked an HQ bad. Axis retreated to avoid encirclement. Statement in the East, winter hits, heavy tanks coming from Soviet factories. The thousand year reich is shorted.

Not much happening in the east ... Japan did not push hard into china - invested hard in research and to take the pacific Islands. Unfortunately USA hit 100% mobilization before Pearl Harbor, American ships were able to counter attack alongside British capital ships sinking about 5 AVL and knocking out 3 IJN ships. Reverse pearl.

Axis player resigned. Game could have been totally different if USA mobilization hit 1 turn later and he took the DAK. Cairo would have fallen.

archmache - you said Allied resigned in your first ELO game, but I am sure you meant Axis.

Coincidentally Jackmck stopped sending me turns and our current game slowed to a snail pace...

Thought I had retired for the 4th time. Like Elvis, I do the things that are not necessarily best for me. This time, I will NOT take more than 2 games and go on overload. Have started two and only two games. This was brought on by the price of gas. I'm a big "go out guy", rather than fill my Truck for $125 constantly & eat out, etc. Will lay low, use this as my drug.

New ELO games started:
=====================
1) Bavre(allies) v ElvisJJonesRambo(axis)
2) ElvisJJonesRambo(allies) v archmache(axis)

**outside chance I will play 3rd against old sparring partner. Will be tied up with my new movie and SC: US Civil War (maybe)

Thanks pal. That's the idea. Problem is. Game #1 is in May 1940. Game #2, dude hasn't even played a turn after accepting challenge. Gonna message. I need two games that move along. Else I get bored. Want action if I'm gonna play.

@Bavre --- Ah, makes sense. You're a Euro; in beer & pretzel country. Very moment you sent turn, I was going out to casino for dinner, poker, & dice. Order the blackened salmon, asparagus, & gravy biscuits (the good ones, not biscuits you can bounce of the counter-top).

Game on! You getting aggressive with them Hill People against the Japs.

ELO Game ends fall 1942. Jackmck (Allies) lost to Taifun (Axis).

I am very disappointed with this player. We used to play 1-2 turns per day but when things turned bad for the Allies he slowed sending me turns (1-2 per week) and started a new game with another player. He did not write to me or explained why.
Then the Soviets lost Perm and Kuybyshev during the summer 1942 and Moscow was about to fall, being surrounded by my forces, he stopped sending any turns. That is inexcusable behavior. This kinds of behavior should be avoided, that's why we organized the ELO tournament, and should be punished. We love this game. It is time consuming, demands concentration and rigor and players should think first if they have the guts to play to the end or just stay playing the AI.

I propose to penalize players that ghost games (for inexcusable reasons) with 100 points in our ELO tournament.

Looks a game, within a game. Scooby-Doo Mystery.

Tonight on Dateline, we resurrect Detective Columbo to solve the curious case of Jack Big Mac vs Taifun things ain't Taifunny.

Question #1) is Big Mac really just a Quarter Pounder with cheese or a Euro, Royal w/ Cheese due to the metric system. Look at the big brain on Brett.

Question #2) is Big Mac KIA (Covid), MIA (Ukraine), AWOL or Deserter

Question #3) is Taifun a fry short of a HappyMeal

Time ⏲️ will tell, the history books are to be written.

Suspicious Minds, we cannot go on,

This is a great forum with great players and it is always been like that. We old hands, it is our duty to tare care of it and report unreliable players.

ThunderLizard11 if you don't know the meaning of the words comradeship and honor you will when you grow up or do your Military Service.

Elvis is great to have you back! We were missing a good clown! You are doing a great job... don't lose faith... there are plenty of good rehab places nowadays.

Players are here to have fun not hear belly aching. If you demand a certain turn around for a turn then you can agree that upfront. Did you have a specifc agreement? I think the default is one turn/week or something like that but I'd have to look it up. It sounds like you are demanding something not agreed and then whining about it.

We agree at least that it's great to have Elvis back!
