The hammer and the anvil in China Jan 43

One more month and the giant encirclement will be complete.

Burma- lost the first battle of the plains.

Under estimated the impact of 4e and 2e bombers on troops in the open and how effective the Chinese can be if well supplied.

It stings but not fatal. Lowpe doesn't have the combat power yet to fully pursue and his formations are a bit tattered as well.

WIll send over a couple more veteran Inf divisions to strengthen the line and plenty more fighters. Happy to fight round 2 shortly.

Sub warfare

I really enjoy this aspect of the game, so much so I have decided to keep a log.

The results compared to my previous games have been somewhat disappointing.

One thing I have achieved is multiple hits on US CVs and BBs but none have been sunk.

Part 1 attached.

The attrition of Allied air forces in Burma continues to make good progress.

This will certainly slow Lowpe down if not stop him in the short term.

The IJN and IJA air arms continue to grow stronger in this theatre. Only the 4e beasts can break through and inflict damage.

Not so good.

His damn subs are driving me insane. So far they have sunk a CV (Shokaku), a BB (magazine hit) and now another CL.

Plenty of counter measures are being employed but Lowpe really knows his stuff.

Starting to get a bit more serious in the Central Pacific.

If Lowpe continues to over reach in certain areas I will now move more aggressively to shut it down.

A successful mop up operation completed.

Ironic since the Kitakami is a torpedo cruiser. ;)
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

David Blaine is always a mind-blowing man. In his latest stunt, he put himself inside a 4-inch-thick bulletproof glass box, then suspended himself above the Thames River in London. He lived there for week, which would have been a lot more comfortable if he wasn’t already cooped up inside a box for 3 days before that. But he did it with his newest series of Magic Shows, so I don’t think he regrets it. Everybody, who watched the show could see that he was alright.

LOL, yes it wasn't loss on me either. I don't seem to have too much luck with kitakami or Oi in games.

Finally a failed atoll assault!

Its about his 4th one and the first that has gone awry for the Allies.

A lot less prep than what Lowpe usually puts in and he used a regt instead of his normal division as the key assaulting unit.

Now they are hung up on the wire and I intend to shoot them to pieces. :D

Good to see Lowpe is capable of making decent mistakes from time to time as well.

And the defending heroes.

Not much supply left but enough to do the job on the remnants of his assault force.

That is 2 decent wins against the US Army in the last 10 days.

Attempting a double encirclement in China which is going to take a bit of skill and luck.

Doable but tricky; it is not like Lowpe won't sense the danger and do something.

If successful, the China campaign effectively ends in June 43.

Trouble growing in Burma.

I could break off and retreat away from the plains but I need to buy some more time for the IJA to crush the Chinese.

Will be very careful how I engage and hope Lowpe doesn't yet have the combat power to rout me.

Want to deny him at least another month.

There will be no rescue mission for any cut off garrison.

They will need to meet their fate bravely.

Naval power is being conserved for the big USN offensives in mid 43.

I lost my 2:1 :(

Can't do anything about the Allied base points which is smart by Lowpe.

I will see if I can get back to 2:1 by smashing apart China.
