Russian War Strategy

Post by canuckgamer »

It is July 40 in our PBEM game. So far I have built one tank corps and planning on building another. My current tank corps are full strength and plan on upgrading them to the current heavy tank advancement of 1940. Most of my mech corps are full strength. I will upgrade them to heavy armour as well. I am thinking that I won't build any more infantry corps and save all my production so that on the first turn of the Axis invasion I can use all the production stockpiled to build infantry armies. Anybody tried this?
This is our first PBEM game with the 1939 Small Fleet scenario and the changes to rail advancement, overruns, and winterization of the Siberian reinforcements so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

You need more units not stronger ones...
You should be building 1 infantry corp per turn.

I have tried stronger units and due to so few units they will get surrounded.

Thanks for the reply. How many tank corps did you build with the Russians?

Maybe 1....I normally build tons of infantry until late 42...since I have to survive that long.
Having tons of infantry is the only way to survive...
