Why are tanks, mechanized and army units the same price?

Tanks are far superior to mechanized units with the exception of attacking ships, which is not often. Aside from having to buy them when you run out of tanks to buy, why are they the same price? Tanks have the same action points, but fight hard, light armor, and tank targets better? I also see that army units are also the same price, but the same cost as tanks.

Mechanized units arrive faster, and count against different unit caps. So it increases the number of units you can blitz with. I tend to purchase all of my Panzer units before buying my mech, but then buy all my mech as well. As Germany this typically means I am one over my Panzer cap (with Afrika Korps) in time for Barbarossa, and as the U.S., Soviets and to a lesser extend the British increases the amount of fast units who can attack twice that I can have by 1943-4.

Still useful... but you are correct, tanks are almost always more useful.

I would serve forum justice to delete his other post as well, seeing that he is bashing my country and basically saying the USA wants slaves. Not cool at all, those are straight up fighting words.
