3.3 House Rule

Post by JagdFlanker »

i was thinking of a fair way of limiting heavy tank production so i figured this may be the simplist way of doing it universally:

only up to one third of total tank factories rounded up may be heavy tank factories. tank factories do not include tank destroyer/jpz/StuG factories.

i guess if you really wanted to have fun you can change it to one half rounded down sometimes.

I say it's a medium tank, no matter how much it weighs!

Sorry, couldn't resist the chance to poke fun at Hitler, though he was talking about ships weighing 10,000 tons and not tanks.

I just reckon on an even third, since most Regimenta have 3 Battalions of tanks, so you'd want one Bn. to have heavy tanks.

I don't think Tigers ever die in this version...I like that. And any tank is harder to kill from the air. I've tried, and even 100 Ju-87G's a fair experience don't seem to do much. they kill artillery, though.

Why?
What is the problem?

On the other hand, it would be nice to be able to manually change the equipment of the StuG units. It would also be nice that fighters-bombers don't get automatically upgraded with fighters.

theres' no problem - in 3.3 both sides can build all heavy tanks if they want and i myself have always played PBEM with a restriction on the amount of factories able to build heavy tanks. before it was germany could have up to 4 factories build heavy tanks, sovs 7. but that was just a guess based on how many factories both sides had in '41/'42 - with the one third restriction it makes it a simple and fair calculation for both sides at all times through the war!
