I was wondering the same thing. From his posts he seemed to be living on a shoestring budget and inflation probably hit him pretty hard. He may have had to drop his internet connection. I am also hoping he has not had health issues.

Last I heard from him on another site he was blocked for a month and I haven't heard from him since. I'll try to see if I can get in touch with him....GP

I suspect Joe's departure has more to do with the Tanaka/Albert kerfuffle and the way that new mod and Eric handled the situation. Others have nearly or totally disappeared as well--Kull, Mindmessing Ian?, the Gorn, and CapMandrake. As I see it, Tanaka and a couple others started a flame war because they didn't RTFM, search the forum, or read AARS to learn the game, and got mad when people suggested they do that. Yeah, its a hard game, and pointers are helpful, but be respectful to those who have the answers.

No matter what it has to do with, what's done is done. SO lets not bring it up. I popped him a message and we will see....GP

As much as I appreciate someone with 20 posts claiming they know all about the forums and coming in and bringing this all back up by blaming me for everything and giving me the power to chase everyone away this is complete BS. I've been playing and reading and searching about this game since the first inception. You will always have questions about this game the experience never ends. I have no problem with anyone suggesting I read anything. I do have a problem when I am personally attacked. I did not start anything it started when I was personally attacked and I stood up for myself and certain people did not like that. An unmoderated forum was then moderated again. Be respectful to those who have questions. If you don't like the questions kindly move along and don't make it your personal mission to rule the forums and attack people. It is really not difficult.

I never had any problems with Gorn, CapMandrake, or Kull, all good guys. I know Kull had a few issues with the new moderator and new matrix forum/rules but that was another situation:

Sorry but I am not responsible for everyone else's pattern of behavior or whether or not they come or go on the forums:

I've been talking with RJ and his return is doubtful. That's all I have to say about that....GP

Ditto, glad he's doing okay as well.

I miss the members like RJ, Alfred, my spiritual brother Canoe, Hans, and many others. I, like some of them have issues with the actions of others but decided to wade through it because IMO this is the best forum going and I enjoy the camaraderie of the members.

Many Blessings to you all!

Couldn't agree more.
Have been in quite a few of different forums in my time, this is easy my favorite.

But it is everyone's individual choice to participate or not.

Politics spills into this game in strange ways. A few turns ago I was withdrawing xAP Dominion Monarch in Aden and, in a rare moment of epiphany, I thought Dominion Monarch would make a great nickname for Joe Biden.

And where is Hans Bolter these days? Playing "Star Citizen" perhaps?

I wonder it if is best to avoid, on this forum, even the most innocent political comments. You never know what they will lead to as one thing leads to another.

If you put on your X-Ray vision glasses, you can see that the blue ribbon says, "On Line" behind the quote mark. Something new, I guess.
Edit: I see the bottom now shows who is online on the forum now.
