Indians and movement after amphibious landings

Post by bullet911 »

Once upgraded with Cavalry weapons level 1 when applying it to Indian units from the purchase menu the stats don't change on the right hand side but they will upgrade the following turn once placed on the map eg.
Soft 2 (2)
Hard 3 (3)
Cavalry 4 (4)
if apply CW to a unit shouldn't the stats on the right increase that's in brackets

Only tried with marines but once they have landed, terrain movement penalties don't seem to apply on the same turn,
like landing in marsh near New Orleans they are still able to move 2 hexes where there is a +1 movement penalty

Cavalry Equipment improves the combat stats of Indians by a half-point per level. So for soft attack, their initial value is 2, upgraded to 2.5, which then rounds down to 2. So the main immediate benefit of upgrading them to level 1 is reducing the bonus an enemy unit receives from tech by a half-point as well should the two meet in combat.

What you're seeing with marines is correct - when a unit unloads from a transport or amphib, it can move up to 2 hexes that same turn, and ignores any terrain movement penalties for that turn (and that turn only).
