[1265.1] Exhaustion RTB/Bingo Pathfinding Issues

Post by ExNusquam »

Admittedly, I'm pushing this new setting to the extreme (hey, I had a scenario idea before this was added)...but aircraft on "RTB - Exhaustion" will fail to path-find and will transit through no-nav zones and will happily bypass tankers on their RTB and run out of fuel and crash.

Run the save attached, several aircraft will transit through the no-nav zone depicted despite attempting to pathfind-around it. If the scenario is run further fuel morts should occur.

While I understand the goal of "don't run the crews ragged", I'd recommend allowing flights on "RTB exhaustion" to continue to path-find around no-nav zones and use tankers. Currently the only way to avoid this behavior in extended range flights is to micro-manage aircraft, which becomes challenging with scale.

Hi ExNusquam

so, your scenario is testing some edge cases and is giving us the possibility to improve on those cases, thanks for that.
Most of the issues are related to pathfinding when RTB and Pathfinding out of a NoNavZone.
Both of the cases should now be fixed and will be included in the next update release.
As you can imagine is not straightforward and is possible that some edge cases will lead to unwanted behaviours.
Let me know if any other issue show up on this matter.
Si Spiritus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
