Grand Campaign: 1941 Campaign, Germany AI (Impossible) or Zhukov give me back my armies. (ongoing)

Post by Intelligent »

Welcome to the 1941 Grand Campaign against the AI Ger on Impossible difficulty. To be honest, I've already started the campaign before. But for some reason, mostly in the realm of morality. Decided to finish it. That time I finished on move 11. I hope this time it will be possible to finish at least until the age of 43.

By the way, I have unlimited respect for everyone who has played or is playing on this difficulty. In my experience here Bot though can do strange things. But still, he continues to advance, and the USSR does not accumulate a critical mass of troops for the German to slow down.

In general, after games with a player, playing with a bot at the maximum level of difficulty is my main entertainment. There are several reasons for this, and the main one is that he does not give up. And this is correct. There would be more such players who can continue the game even when everything is bad at the front. And it looks like you lost. I hope everything doesn’t go badly in this pariah and I don’t decide to surrender to the bot.

As for the interface of the game, perhaps someone will notice that I have it slightly different from the standard version. The presence of a translation into Russian and a graphic mod are the reason for this. Because I like this map more than the standard one and I'm more comfortable playing the game in the language of which I am a native speaker. I apologize in advance if the presence of a Russian excites someone's feelings.

Turn 1 Start

Post by Intelligent »

Turn 1 Start Front
As you can see, the first move of the bot is standard. The average player also goes 1 turn. The more experienced can do more. For example.
North
1. Take Riga with temporarily motorized infantry so as not to waste the plan on motorization.
2. Sea bombers block the port of Venspils in order to put an extra infantry regiment in the environment.
3. Using a tank division, destroy the 183rd rifle division subordinate to the 24th corps.
4. Knock out the Airborne Forces and capture an extra couple of railway sections without a fight. And force the airborne brigade to flee.
Center.
5. Capture the swamp in front of Vitebsk so that the next move there is no NKVD there, which will have to be knocked out with a fight.
South.
6. Surround the mountain divisions near Hungary
7. Capture Proskurov with the nearest tank. Although this is already situational, I don’t know how to keep the connection from Tarnopal to proskurov not captured. Perhaps you can motorize a lot of infantry and start it, but in fact it’s difficult to keep the tanks not surrounded, against the USSR, which understands that it can not only retreat, but also advance.

Move 1. Losses

Post by Intelligent »

Losses on land are higher than usual. In my opinion, the USSR lost about a few tens of thousands more than usual, and the German, in turn, lost more than half as much as usual. Since the loss of the wounded is reduced many times due to complexity.
According to aviation statistics, it can be seen that the bot plays as a fairly experienced player, the only thing that the Germans can lose more than their own by inflicting such losses is to lose about 150 aircraft.

The boni are huge so fighting frontally will not work well. Your only chance is to manoeuvre since the settings wont make the AI smarter. Raiding with cavalry and cutting off motorized units should give you a decent chance.
