Cargo Manifest?

Post by mroyer »

Is there any way to tell what has cargo used the logistic points (LP) of a particular transportation line/hex?

I ask because I have a gut feeling, based on lots of prior play experience, that something is messed up in using the latest build [v1.11.06] (at least in for my regime), but I don't know how to zero in on the issue. The LP charges on my rail lines are far beyond anything I can rationalize with quick mental rationalization. Is it a bug, a proper change in logistics, or just something I forgot about or was unaware of? I don't know how to tell which.

Another oddity with logistics that leads me to think there may be bugs in the LP system in latest releases is shown bu the following two pics.

The first one is the projected LP on a short dirt-road spur to the northwest. The second one is the same exact thing, except with the truck-station contribution highlighted. The actual allocated LP on the next turn will be zero. How could it be possible to have the truck-station contribute LP, yet there is no LP allocated? Bug?

Hunting around for abnormalities, I discovered this city on the rail line going south with 4000(!) pull points. That is over 10x pull points of any other city in my regime. There isn't anything special or unusual about this city (that I'm aware of). If I over-rule block those pull points and manually set it to 500, the rest of the logistics system snaps back into reasonableness (including the dirt road LP in the opening post).

Unless someone has some possible explanation, I'm probably going to report it to Vic as an issue/potential bug.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Check the city's zone inventory (Items tab of the bottom bar). You can see whether the city has a backlog of resources waiting to be shipped to the SHQ in its stockpile, and how much it is producing per turn. Backlogs are a common symptom of having inadequate logistics points available in the network, and will clog up your logistics system until it has adequate logistics points and has spent some time clearing them.
Not affiliated with Slitherine. They added it to my name when they merged the Slitherine and Matrix account systems.

I think you may be correct - at least in part.
That particular zone (Metamark) is overproducing food and wildly overproducing water.

Indeed, every zone with a lake front is producing tons of water (5000). This was noted as a fixed bug in a recent beta-update. While we're playing on the most recent version which should have fixed that issue, we started the game before it was fixed - so, probably the bug lingers. I think all that extra water being sent to the SHQ then disposed of there (beyond storage capacity) is clogging my logistics system throughout the regime and the opening post showed the most obvious symptoms that caught my attention a bunch of turns ago.

It still doesn't explain everything though.

(1) Even though I have multiple zones producing max water, only Metamark has the extreme pull point issue.
(2) I still can't reconcile why the second post issue is happening - truck LP allocated to a dirt road, but no total LP available.

Thanks for the response; it helped a lot!

Someone else mentioned that water runs through pipelines and doesn't consume logistic points.
Now, I'm back to thoroughly confused :?
