I'm suprised Matrix haven't got a website for such a major release, that is so close to going gold.

RE: Normandy Version
I dont think it will make the Q1 timeline.. probably early Q2 like very early Q2. Matrix may not be able to talk about it yet.. they may still be finalising the details around any contracts etc.

RE: Normandy Version
You should always take Game Availability dates with a grain of salt, herc. Most of the time they are too optimistic. Matrix Games is better then most, but even Matrix usually has to push back the intial availability date.
I would think that Q2 is probably more realistic then Q1 although they could surprise us.

RE: Normandy Version
I have no problem with the vague date or it being pushed off. But they have stated a product is on its way, and then we hear nothing. No updates and the site has not been updated since Korsun expansion came out. As long as they are honest and up front about the development than that is all I can ask for. Most of us are understanding and looking forward to the newer versions and they should expect questions when they do not communicate to us.
I am just a paying customer who is looking forward to adding to my fun. I am not asking for anyone to commit to a date or to rush it out the door. I was just curious on how development was coming and what ever the state of that was I was fine with.

Somewhere I'm happy than Normandy is not ready as I'm still very busy with previous release. If you add the customers scenario there are now 6 battles to play. So don't rush and made beautiful game/scenario[&o]

RE: Normandy Version
I think that when BIN is released we will see even more people getting into the design of custom scenarios.. and I can tell you now that the new engine will allow me (for example) as a scenario designer to do some of the things I wanted to do but couldnt do with the KP engine. Plus the BIN editor is/will be easier to use.

RE: Normandy Version
One question I had. When the new BIN game engine hits the airwaves, will the new features be ported over to the KP/TAO scenarios through an upgrade/patch/or upgraded scenarios ?
... or will the old scenarios be playable with the BIN game engine (with the new stuff like AA units affecting air interdiction, etc.)? ... don't know how to word this question but hopefully you get the drift.

Hank,
Saw a similar question somewhere on the boards and the answer was expect to import KP scenarios into BiN. Hope I've captured the previous post accurately.

RE: Normandy Version
You are able to 'import' KP scenarios into Bin, and they will be playable in Bin.. but without proper editing in the Bin editor the KP scenarios will not take advantage of new elements in Bin, like Eng Pontooning, AA interdictions etc..

There are more screenshots over at SSG fellas - woohoo!
I gotta say this new release is gonna rock - another Game of the Year for certain. How's this for new features: Player initiated Amphibious Landings; Attrition for airborne and amphib landings; minelaying; carpet bombing... [&o]

Looking very good. Can any testers comment on Allied airpower? That "killing ground" screen shot looks like there is a ton of it. How are the initial Allied bombings, which were largely inneffective IIRC, handled? Thanks.

carpet bombing..
There is a rumour going around at the moment that the carpet bombing icon is that of a carpet....

RE: Normandy Version
Awesome maps. Is Mr. Ford still the map maker for SSG? If so, I salute him for his wonderful work. He creates beautiful pieces of art for these games. [&o]
After reading through some of the new features, I see naval bombardment of specific targets is going to be added. I would like to see this feature extended to specific (long range) artillery units also. But, if it isn't, no problem for me.
I can't wait for it to hit the streets. They can count on my $ when it arrives.
