No, no CVs are overloaded, the most is one at 99, its SBD squadron just took on replacements so they are being repaired and
then 3 will go into reserve status. I have always run my USN CVs with 96 aircraft with no problems.
The highest fatigue is 8, so that is not a problem.

I noticed that even though I am not getting any messages, the weather is forecasted to be rain, maybe it is weather related.
One of the things I dislike is that there is not enough feedback into why air missions do not launch. An item in the ops report
would help clear up things like this, if that is the problem.

Something is not working right. I am going to return the DS to Lunga and disband it and try again.
Every time only one SBD squadron is attacking and I can see no reason. It is the same one that is
attacking. Also, I have not disbanded the DS since earlier battles when all units attacked.

There are messages about mission cancellation that flash by on the map screen during turn execution. They should be captured in the "combat_events_[date]" text file if you are archiving them. Here is a partial entry in one of my combat events files:

AIR STRIKES
Mission cancelled for 8 x Fulmar II from No.806 Sqn FAA !!!
Mission cancelled for 12 x I-153 from 18 IAP-PVO !!!
Mission cancelled for 26 x I-153 from 38 IAD/22 IAP !!!

Edit to add- but you are right about not enough info on the reason for cancellation!

Nothing about strikes not flying in the combat events file. And I think that the fact that there is only one SBD squadron flying and it is the same one every time points to a problem.
I hope that by disbanding the TF and creating a new one will fix the problem.

Nice bombardments for no FP spotters! I am just guessing because the game doesn't tell you the weather at the time of bombardment, but FPs are pretty finicky about flying in anything but light wind conditions and good visibility.

It could be, but the others flew from the BBs, but they are Kingfishers and the CAs have Seagulls. That could be a factor.

I forgot to post this earlier. The voyage of O24
I disbanded her at Great Nicobar, but there is no port and her crew did not seem to be fixing any damage, so she set sail for
a base with a port, and she made it.

The DS has visited Tulagi, I disbanded it, created a new ACTF using number 6 instead of 5.
I stood down all aircraft last turn and a lot of my aircraft went into maintenance. I have not had a problem before with
aircraft with high fatigue not flying, sometimes I have noticed higher than normal ops losses, but not refusal to fly.
So it will be a few turns before the aircraft are repaired.

I swept a few mines at Shortlands with a DMS, I am leaving it for another turn.

I send a USMR defense ART via FT to Munda. It will be interesting to see what Xargun does.
I gave those orders before I realized that my DS will not be operational for a few turns. I should have canceled the
orders to the FT TFs, but I didn't. I will take him a few days to organize a response, so I might be able to hold it.
I wanted a base close enough to Shortlands to provide both some LRCAP and SBD attack support. I do want to take
Shortlands. That will put my Corsairs in normal range of Rabaul.

No ground attacks in China. It is hard to tell, but I think there is a movement arrow out of Nanning.

With the Carrier in port, you can repair the aircraft in two turns by transferring the squadron to the port on one turn and return it to the ship the next turn. All the aircraft will show one day repair times. Gamey? Sort of - I consider it an offset to the very slow repair rate on board ship even when it is disbanded in port.

To be clear - the ship must be disbanded in port or docked for this to work. If the aircraft fly off the ship to the base or vice-versa, they retain their fatigue and add some with corresponding repair times. It's the crane that magically changes their repair times!

CA Minneapolis hit a mine while on a Naval Bombardment at Shortlands.
I am sending the entire TF to Sydney for repairs, I have used this TF on a number of full speed runs
to bombard Shortlands and the damage has crept up.

Xargun sent Betty bombers on night naval attack, they attacked my bombardment fleet at Shortlands.
No hits but 8 Bettys bombers were lost to flak.

It looks more and more like China has morphed into a stalemate. I have been able to contain all his attracts so far after
losing the three bases in Eastern China in the early months of the war.

Not much. Swept some mines at Shortlands.
64 B-25Bs did little damage to the post at Shortlands.

One thing happened that always tees me off
The AI split off CA Minneapolis with a DD into an escort TF and routed to a port where it CAN NOT be repaired
instead of letting stay in the TF that is going to a port where it CAN be repaired. I wish I knew how to stop
this insane action.

Had a DMS hit a mine while clearing the minefield at Shortlands. Difference between my DMSs and Xarguns is that mine should make it back to a base.

Interesting, last turn all 64 of my B-25Bs attacked as one strike package the port at Shortlands and did almost no damage.
This turn they went in as 4 x 16 strike packages and did significantly more damage.

We start a new month

Swept another 36 mines at Shortlands

One of my ASW TFs found SS RO-67 West of Russell Islands.
Hit it with 1 direct hit and 3 damage hits. Game and tracker says it sank, but I doubt it.

64 B-25Bs hit the airfield at Shortlands. Good hits on the airbase, runway and supply, and destroyed 3 Zeros on the ground.

My DMS that hit a mine at Shortlands has made it back to Tulagi and will repair minor damage before moving to a RS.

In total he lost 29 Zeros, 24 air-2-air. 4 ground and 1 ops.
I lost 9 B-25Bs all air-2-air, 1 P-38E to ops, and 1 P-38f to air-2-air

He should have lost some pilots, I am hopeful he lost at least 10.

He did also lose a B5N2 Kate on a night naval attack on my YMS sweeping mines at Shortlands
I did sweep another 27 mines there.
