strategic bombing of Japan

much like my commentary of convoy raiding of Japanese convoys I am wondering if many have found strategic bombing of Japan very useful obviously you have to get close enough first.

Thanks to latest patch, big range for bombers are now coming in 1944. So, it will start to be useful to invest in strategic bombing.
Chancellor Gorkon to Captain James T. Kirk:
You don't trust me, do you? I don't blame you. If there is to be a brave new world, our generation is going to have the hardest time living in it.

Very situationally useful. It's more of a 'win more' in an already advantageous game state if you have multiple bases in range of the Home Islands industry. It is useful if you need/want to perform an invasion of Japan to stop air and army repairs as it's very difficult to break through the rough terrain otherwise, but I'd say building DD's, escort fighters, Corps and landing ships should be prioritised until 1944 and tactical bombers based in Korea do just as good a job as strat bombers.

I do enjoy taking the Kuril islands once Japan moves the garrison units away from there and bombing the Hokkaido resources from there with the starting strat bomber unit though. It can provoke some over the top reactions or just takes around 10pp per turn away from Japan if left unanswered.
