Tech to increase gearing limits?

Ok, I could have sworn one of the techs increases the gearing limits of all of your units (not just HQs)

I keep looking at the tool-tip and I do not see any tech that does that and by how much.

Is their one?

No, tho such can be easily modded-see my WitP scenario for how I did it.

No problem. if by "gearing: you mean build limits.

You have to use on of the right-hand techs, the ones in the "Automatic Upgrades" sub-screen:

Country Data/Research/Advanced Research Data/Upgrades/Automatic Upgrades

Choose country, "target" [unit type], and then one of the "upgrades" [techs]. [Note you'll have to copy over and mod the localization file which is in all of the vanilla scenarios so as to rename the techs and provide new descriptions-see my WitP one for how I did it since vanilla usually has very few mods in there]

Near the lower right is the field you want, Build Limits. Note they can be adjusted in terms of half a unit (the code rounds this down note), which is useful for rarer units such as say a Rail Gun.

Also note that if you decide to go with soft builds you can adjust the penalty for extra units by adjusting the soft build MPP penalty on each country;s main Data screen.
