A PLEA to get rid of Sock Puppets

Could we please have some form of control to alleviate "Sock Puppet" accounts. The process of creating many accounts to subvert a forum is sinister. My PLEA is to have an "honest" account, verified so we all know the kid games have stopped.

with current technologies it should not be a problem to detect when one person is using multiple accounts (i can share with a Matrix staff some suggestion in PMs if they are interested) and system should notify people that are responsible for a moderation that it looks like that account X and account Y are used by the same person
in that way preventive actions, or lack of it, as system might give false alarms, can be made to prevent damage that alt accounts are doing to the forum

as right now there are no discussions, and when people try to discuss something then that topic is turned into trash talking
as a result it does not benefit community but only encourages trolls to have "fun"

There is no technical measure you can use to stop people making multiple accounts, if they are determined enough.

If it were possible, Facebook, Twitter and others wouldn't be deleting thousands of accounts daily while still making no dent in the amount of fake ones.

We can only hope that the whole bother of going and make yet another email address eventually grinds down repeat offenders, since it takes us literally seconds to re-ban offenders and it often takes them 5 mins+ or to make another email address. Plus constantly making email addresses can sometimes be detected by the email provider and can result in you losing access to all your email accounts.
