Malta supply blockade

Post by Garush »

Hi everyone !

I read in the description of the Europe 1939 scenario that Malta could be blocked :

« Gibraltar, Malta ans Azores - if an ennemy naval group is next to the port and no friendly naval group is in or next to the port supplies are cut off for each of these ports. »

So as the Allied player, I put a fleet in Malta. But it seems that despite this, Malta is still under blockade.

May be I did something wrong ? Or I didn't understand something ? Or is it a bug ?

Thanks for your answer.

Was the UK fleet in Malta (or adjacent) at the start of the turn (the one when you received the report)?

Yes. I positioned it here the previous turn, precisely to avoid being supply blocked.

Hum... then you should not be blockaded. Might be a bug...

The rule differs between WPE and WPP. In WPP, a fleet in port won’t prevent a port blockade. Could it be that the WPP rule was introduced in WPE by the latest patch?

Just guessing.

Good guess. However I am playing a game with Magic Missile and my subs in Malta are actually stopping the blockade (1.00.17.01 version).

My fleet left Malta for Gibraltar, before returning one turn later. Well this time, the blockade was broken.
