[Suggestion]The minimal scenery value for building of resort bases

Post by WiZz »

Hello.
Is it possible to add an additional option where you can actually set the minimal scenery value for building of resort bases? I'm getting tired from constant AI suggestions to build a resort on a place with 3% scenery which is a waste of money.

You will pretty much always be net positive no matter the bonus... it stimulate the civilians to build more passenger ships, help migration and will always give you more money. It is more important the facility is close to a colony rather than what bonus it has.

In my current game I just spam the stations starting with the closest ones, currently up to 59 station with a total maintenance cost of around 20k, last year I earned about 140k in tourist income.

Also look at the stations themselves, try to keep them as cheap as possible, you pay the maintenance on them, not the civilians.

Just keep building those resorts... :)

I think you play on large galaxies with huge amount of colonies. Sorry, but on 700-1000 stars with scarce colonies building resorts everywhere is a waste of money. Nobody will fly to your shitty resorts. Even your citizens. Thus tourist income is pretty low. Also AI on small maps usually builds only 3-5 passenger ships and that's it.

No... that is not how it works... the civilian AI build passenger ships based on the amount of colonies and resorts that you have and they will go to them... you will earn more money than what they cost, pretty much all the time unless you build them very far from your colonies or friendly empires colonies.

It is way more important they are close than that they have a high scenery value.

In my current game I'm playing with Very Rare colony planets and independents so my colony count is low... just build on the closest spots first. Number of stars of the galaxy is not really that important, it is the amount and spread of colonies you have that matters more.

I have studied the logic of when and how much ships the AI builds, so I know.

I often build the resorts just so they build more passenger ships... this actually help your migration. So you might nit earn as much tourism initially as many of the ships built will go and do migration missions instead, but that is something you want.

In the current game I have four colonies, including my home planet, two independent worlds and one settled by me, a total of seven resorts for a maintenance of around 2500 and a Tourism income around 4500 per year... but 18 of the 30 passenger ships I have run migration missions not carrying tourists.
