how will this work

Post by max_h »

in the "members announcement" there´s talk about four scenarios, to be exact:
" * Four full-length scenarios (Spring ?40, Summer ?41, Spring ?42, Summer ?43) lasting to the end of the war"

now I wonder how this will work? will the USA be a neutral "territory" at start of the Spring ?40, Summer ?41 campaings, as they are seemingly merged into the "western allies" block?

Just a simple question concerning the Western Allies.... How much is the US limited before they are actually attacked - Pearl Harbor ? Is the Lend - Lease available ? Can the US still lose units without going to war - historically Japan sunk several US destroyers off the coast of china years before Pearl Harbor and the US did nothing... Just wondering... Without limiting the US might, the axis will have little chance..

Politically frozen zones freeze all movement except supplies. This means that the US can still send supplies over WA transports that are out at sea. This means they can send supplies to England, and they can even send them to the Soviet Union and the Chinese, although this takes more effort. Combat units cannot move in these frozen areas, so US troops will not be allowed to move. The US can build new units and supplies, although their production is much lower while they are not yet at war, and they can provide resources to other WA factories as long as their is a transport link. As for losing units, no, the second a US unit is attacked, they will be at war. The losses the US suffered before PH were fairly minor, and do not add up anywhere near the amount equal to a combat unit.

Question: Will all the neutral countries - ie Turkey and Spain always remain Neutral.

For example - If France surrenders to the Axis is there a chance that a neutral Turkey decides to Annex Vichy Syria ( before WWI Syria was a province of Iraq), similarly if Egypt falls to the Axis is there a chance that neutral Turkey will annex Iraq (before WWI a province of Iraq).

In essence, does this game have a political system where your actions have a chance to influence the actions of the major neutral countries?

At this time, true neutrals remain that way unless attacked, and they will trade with anyone that can trace a rail/sea transport link to them.

How about the majors. Is there a possibility that the Russo-German pact could actually see fruition of an Axis alliance against the western powers?

Thanks for the quick answer.

I just thought it would be interesting if some countries actions are influenced by player actions, especially if you are playing the AI. For example: If Human Axis Attacks Switzerland then perhaps Norway and Sweden would sign a defense pact say 5% of the time.

I am looking forward to this game which is one of only three games I have my eye on at present.

The other two being World in Flames and The Great War.

Oh god sorry one more Combat Leader!

The rest of the releases I have seen in the pipeline seem to be totaly uninspiring. Im sure the game industry is suffering from what the film industry suffers. Endless new products of the same old kind. RTS, FPS......erm cant think of any other genre of game!! different graphics same games.

Well done Matrix and all the other publishers, developers which bring out non mainstream games. Consoles are for the mainstream. PC should be used to its full effect and cater for the game buyers.

No, we assume that the Soviets and the US will only come in on the Allied side.
