Had a great day trip up into the mountains yesterday to the town of Estes Park, where we took a tram and a short hike to the summit of a mountain with a 360 degree view. Great day! 8-)

While you are in the area, you should connect with John 3rd, he has a Subway in the area.

Maybe not. Just before you rejoined us John 3rd announced he was selling his Subway and moving to another town. I am unsure of the timeline.

I did not know that. But still, if he is still in the area where he was living it is only a 75 minute drive compared to how long that it used to be.

Received D-Day at Saipan last week. Great solitaire board game. I have 3 of the other five in the series, D-Day at Tarawa, D-Day at Peleliu & D-Day at Iwo Jima. Very tough games. Rules can be a bit confusing to get through but one you get the hang of it they are frustratingly fun.
I haven't heard of these games before. Is there a website....GP
Search D-Day at Saipan or Decision games.

My condolences.

Around here it is usually walnut potica and I even saw a pecan potica one place. Both are good. :D

One man has a business selling "potica" although it actually is a Slovakian recipe which gives it a slightly different taste.

Revolution Games had a sale going where I found 'D-Day at Saipan'. Another good solitaire folio board game is 'Last Battle: Ie Shima, 1945' for $20. Company scale. Nice small game on a 17x22 map. Use zones, not hexes. Two player option. Also on that site. I also have Decision Games 'Operations Olympic & Coronet: The planned Invasion of Japan'. An old revamped SPI solitaire folio game. Regiment scale. A bit more a $50. 'D-Day at Saipan' is quite spendy at $80 but very good quality box, board and counters. Company scale. Good size hexes at about 1". I hate a messy battlefield. Of the series 'D-Day at Iwo Jima' is the most expensive, $100. Also the toughest. Boardgame Geek (BBG) in another great site.
Enjoying DDaS so far. 2nd game, full campaign invasion 15-19 June (16 turns). Not sure how I am doing right now. Finally took Charan Kanoa PM 16 June turn after some nasty street fighting. Have most of the O-1 line so a bit behind schedule. Ready for a Japanese tank attack on the left flank. 4th Marine Division beginning to make good progress moving through the swamps around southern Lake Susupe. Two battalions of the 165th, 27th Division beginning to land. Then start making a push for Aslito field. First I have to eliminate the Japanese pillbox and artillery position on Agingan Point. Artillery, Naval gunfire or airstrikes should take out the pillbox and disrupt the Japanese unit and temporally quite the artillery position.
Then ground assault. Need to reduce the Japanese artillery fire which helping to holding up my forward progress. Japanese not fully deployed on the higher ground. I am sure that is going to change. 2nd Marine division finally pushing off the beaches after some bitter fighting. Nail biter. Great fun.
