1.0.6.4 Fighters Blow Up upon construction!!!

This is bizarre!!! My fleet -- every single ship - explodes as they're flying towards their goal - (see fleet 2).

They all have no fighters or bombers built. Every few seconds - every ship - in sync - all explodes a bit - and you can see the fighter/bomber count twitch for an instant.

SO THE BOMBERS ARE BEING BUILT - AND EXPLODING - DAMAGING THE ENTIRE FLEET CONSTANTLY
It'd be goddamn nice to have this BBS not delete attachments constantly. WTH? >:(

It's even weirder. Take a look at fleet no. 1. The ships here have their fighter bays full - but their shields are at zero - and every couple seconds you hear and explosion and their shields drop down from whatever they've begun to recharge to to zero.

You can see some component damage on some of the ships too. These have not be fighting recently (the other fleet - no. 2 - is brand new - but even fleet no. 1 just came from being fully repaired).

This is unplayable. Ships just blowing up constantly?!!! :oops:

It was me downloading at 1/100 - 1/1000 of normal download speed, no wonder no one is downloading save games :(

No nebula, just open space and fireworks at mordachai's ships, well orchestrated. Maybe they were not proper trained and started firing in the launch tubes? Have you checked the big blue button? Our linguists were able to decipher the plate beneath it: Do not press the Big Blue Button. Maybe it's a hint... B... u... g...

This was due to your ships being inside a minor gravity storm (the subtle background color oscillation). This star is actually a story location (enter Game Editor to see the name). So your fighters were taking damage from the storm.

However this was improper while they are onboard their carrier. So the next build changes this so that fighters onboard carriers or bases no longer affected by location effects.

But there is no visual indication of any nebula, not even at closest visible range: On the left is a nearby nebula, zoomed in one step bevor the UI stops rendering it. Many WASDs later (keep pressing ;)) the fleet and sun show up. Note that I have made the southern colony independent so that there is no empire color disturbing the view. And for the right shot I've sent the fleet away.

How do you spot "the subtle background color oscillation" you're mentioning? There is nothing to spot whatsoever. And while this is a still I was staring at the game trying to spot any oscillation.

Yeah, I couldn't tell it was in a gravitic storm. Sounds like you couldn't either, Thineboot...

I've had a few games where the only indication that the star was in a nebula of some sort was the fact that the empire color didn't expand to cover that star.

but no matter how close-up I was, or how I manipulated the camera - there was zero indication (that I could discern) that the star system was indeed in any sort of nebula.

I would suggest that this is a bug. That nebulas should never be allowed to exist below some minimum size threshold such that they're visible - at least a little, in the game (or some additional way to express to players that a system is in a nebula so that it's possible to discern this without having to guess using circumstantial evidence).

Appreciate that the fighter/bombers won't explode anymore. That also seems like a solid improvement. Cheers!

Ah, you have to zoom in very closely to spot this micro nebula :o

At least it's not getting worse :roll:

It seems I was wrong, it can get worse, now it's an infinitesimal small nebula :shock:

i wanted only mention that even after the recent patch fighters still go blow up as soon they being build (even without launch).
The Location is the ancient Zenox Homeworld, that is in a Storm/Nebula and its on the Spaceport around the Planet.

The Fighters even have Ion Hardened Armor but its no use..its a constant construction and explosion
