Hi,

I've been playing Red Storm since the day it was released and am a big fan. I'm also (almost) ashamed to admit that after all this time and many many playthroughs I still have NO idea what the sub-unit inspector is referring to when it provides a value for something called an "AREA". What is an "area"??? Is it a distance? An elevation of some sort? A range of some type? The manual is mostly silent about this......... (hint hint)

Since I imagine it will be in SS as well, decided to post the question here.

I think it was the start of some work to note frontage to be covered, but I don't think it ever got fully implemented into Red Storm. Sadly my old brain is now stuffed with the new game engine info/code, and I'll have to ask the crew and see if anyone else remembers it and what it does, if anything. If it is not in the new game, things have changed a bit.

If it is the Area in a weapon description, that is the rating for small arms or Area fire weapons.
